Hello all!

I took a pic of my new scoot at work today. I really am amazed how nice it is. For years I have owned various scoots.

I had a 2005 PX 2-stroke but had to sell it to finance a home purchase. I have also had Hondas, Kymcos, and as recent, a Genuine Stella Auto 125.

I have even had them as big as a KYMCO Xciting 500ri and as small as a Honda Metro.

But by far, this is my favorite. I am looking forward to putting a few 10s of thousands of miles on this. I do ride alot.

Don in KC.

Here is my current lineup....
The newest of my bunch.

Thanks. I had joined when I first got my 2005 PX several years ago. I had to sell it. Now that I have a Vespa I will be able to keep, I decided to be more active.

It's a great site-a good source for fixes to problems.

How do you like the Stella Automatic? I've got one of the first 2-stroke, manual shift Stellas from 2003. Still running strong at 24,000 miles.

My poor Stella has as of late developed a bunch of problems. In June, I had laid her down on a wet road and had a bunch of repairs done. After I got her back she started to develope stalling issues. This is what has been replaced (besides body parts).

1. EPU.
2. Coil.
3. Flywheel?
4. Battery.
5. Speedo.
6. Speedo gear.

Granted, the speedo and speedo gear has nothing to do with the stalling issue. That was related to the accident. She had been in the shop for about 6 weeks when I got her back. All repairs have been done under warranty or through my motorcycle insurance.

On Saturday, 11/26, I decided to run out the tank of gas that was in it. The weather was cool to cold when I first started out. By 1 it was close to 60. It ran really strong-probably the best it ever has. I probably put 100 miles on it. As I parked, I noticed an odd noise. I couldn't tell if it was an exhaust leak type noise or engine knock. Plenty of oil was indicated on the dip stick.

I called the shop where I bought it and they just so happened to be in my neighborhood from dropping off a scooter. The owner stopped by for a listen.

He took it back with him

I haven't given up on this scoot but I am disappointed. There aren't all that many nice days left to scoot. I may have to provide an update in the spring. Ride safe everyone.

Falling in love with that Stella 125. May sell the Triumph in the spring, put some money back into the Vespa and get a Stella. Might convince my wife to ride it.

I'm with Tierney on this. Never owned a Stella but people are always having to work on them to keep them going. I suppose if you like to wrench it could be fun but not my cup of tea. I wouldn't sell the Triumph but that's just me.

Well, I have owned a Stella (3 years) and will not bring up all the quirks of them on here as they are well documented. If you want, send me a PM. Sorry for the topic hijack.

Congrat's On Your New Ride
Congratulations on your new ride. I rode my first Vespa when I was 12. It was love at first sight. After more than 50 years and a bunch of bikes, I purchased my first Vespa last month. I couldn't be happier. It's a GTV 300. I added an Italia license plate frame and a very nice leather top case from yelcome.com. What a hoot to ride.
Enjoy your new scoot. It looks great.
Ride Safe.
