I have the Faco midsize screen, which has really helped keep the wind off me for those cold morning ride-to-work days. But it ends at a height that buffets my helmet. I've read a bit about the "laminar lip." Would that fit on my windscreen? I couldn't find any info about the Faco screen on the laminar lip website. Are there any other devices that you might recommend?

I successfully used a Laminar Lip to extend the windscreen on my BV350. Worked great. Not only extends the height of the windscreen, but the "flip" creates a bit of turbulence that further reduces helmet buffeting. The only drawback is that it makes cleaning bug splatters off the windscreen a bit more complicated.

The laminar lip I got for my GTS (3/4 windscreen) was actually for a BMW motorbike.

Was it substantially quieter when you put the Laminar lip on?

Thanks

I can't see how to install it...will it involve drilling into my windshield?

Puig makes a wind deflector that clamps on to the top of your windshield, no drilling. A friend of mine has one on his Kymco and likes it. I'm considering getting one for my BV350.

I added a Laminar lip to a Faco midsize screen on my last GTS and yes it was substantially quieter especially at higher speeds. I'm 5'9" for reference.
Interestingly I'm finding that currently the quietest option I've found is NO screen--but that doesn't take care of feeling like I have to hold on for dear life at 120km/hour. And I'm not sure how practical no screen will be when the weather gets cooler...

I had one of these on A prior motorcycle and loved it. I hadn't thought about it for the GTS. Hmmm

The ninja 500 r that I purchased came with one. I thought I would like to put a bigger windscreen on. After a few short rides with that Velcro'ed to the stock wind screen. I never changed it, it was great for that application.

No drilling required. As Mystery2me said, it uses circles of a really strong Velcro-like fastener made by 3M. You can see them in the photo I posted.

i purchased a laminar 'like' lip for my BV but still wasn't happy with the turbulence. I think i was slightly too tall. I ended up getting a GIVI windscreen and cut it down to the perfect height. added advantage is that this screen keeps the wind off my hands aswell.

That is actually one advantage of a Laminar Lip. It can be adjusted to the right position on the windscreen to produce the most optimal airflow by moving the added piece up or down several inches.

I had a Laminar lip on a Majesty, it worked but not that well, certainly an improvement over stock. It's probably not much more expensive to fit a Faco Twin Screen I have one on my GTS and it's excellent. On the low setting it's great around town and on the highest it works well on the open road. I still get a little noise around the helmet but as I use earplugs when on a run it's not a concern.

I have used a Faco Twin Screen on a GTS as well. The feature of being able to adjust for each ride is excellent. The screen does have it's drawbacks, however. You need to be very sure you keep the adjustment knobs firmly tightened at all times or you will lose one sooner or later while underway. The screen is not as wide as it probably should be, so it allows some buffeting around the sides. And the upper piece of the screen vibrates a bit when fully extended. For all that, it is a credible alternative. My preference, however, is to get a screen that is too tall, and cut it down so that you can just look over the top of the screen while the airflow off of the screen goes over your helmet.

No drilling. Very strong self-sticking "pucks" with velcro.

I never could / or did separate them. Those Velcro "pucks" are to strong.

I've been using the twin screen and decided to take it off. Much nicer ride in the summer with no screen at all. For me the screen increases buffeting and without a screen at all it's much pleasanter. Perhaps it'll go back on in the winter.
