Yes, they did have some compliments.
Heated Grips seemed to be a big deal, but I guess they didn't realize it's an accessory from Piaggio that replaces a few of the non-operable buttons. The automatic tilt-lock was 12K I think it was... so it was even more. Keith |

When you can have an MP3 for the cost of the modification alone, this doesn't make sense but if cost is no object to a Harley Davidson fanatic, more power to them. Ironically, the price on their website for either version says "plus installation", for which I could never find an actual price, which probably means that installation isn't cheap.
Ironically, they probably sell more conversion kits in America than Piaggio will sell MP3's. |

So, for an additional 10 grand, plus install, you can get your Harley to pretend it is Italian????

Having a MP3 is far superior to this wannabe Harley configuration. Notice they didn't show the MP3 locked upright. For that feature it's another $2K on the Harley addon trying to match what the MP3 does from the git go.

If anything new is coming out for our Bikes, we will see it posted in Europe first before we know about it in the US. Our Dealers just don't push this bike like the lower priced Vespa's for Students and Commuters where they make their money. It would take more then Oil in my Air Filter for me give up on the MP3. I just found the video interesting. Now if I owned multiple bikes (I have a friend here in Atlanta, he's up to 10 Bikes a mix of Scooters and Harley.), and one happened to be a Harley, I would probably consider this as a Mod. But not buying a New Bike, and do this Modification. It's more like 12K doing the Mod with the Auto-Lock. The guy in the video said he almost dropped the Harley and it took some getting used to, and all we have to do is flip a switch. But you have to admit, that Harley was "Good Looking"... Love the Grill on the Front! I ride with a lot of Harley friends, and you would not be amazed the issues they have with exhaust, and engines. Plus to change the oil on those bikes its expensive with the need for special Oil, that must be purchased by Harley Davidson. Crazy... Now if Can-Am would ever get their front wheels working like a MP3, that would be a future consideration. Right now, its like driving a car I think... Everyone I have met say doing twisties is hard on the shoulders. I have my Marshmallow Elio on Order now for a few years, so that would be my direction vs a Can-Am. I am retiring in about 2 years, so I am going to sell off a few of my 4 Wheeler's, and go down to a New Chevy Colorado, and the Elio, then all my Bikes. My Car's are going to go... My assumption is that the one guy in the video "almost dropping" the tilting Harley really meant that he came close to inadvertantly dropping it completely over to the limits of the leaning mechanism. Tentatively, with the suspension set up the way it is, I don't think that it is possible to actually drop one of these all the way over like an MP3.
As I originally stated, this modification is a really cool, just not cost effective way to get a leaning three wheeled bike (at least for an average person). However, Harley Davidson should have done this on their own rather than having gone with the horribly unstable at speed Triglides. And the reality is that the MP3 and this tilting Harley really aren't competing products. The MP3 is affectively a two wheeled scooter with an added third wheel for safety/stability that is fun, practical, and (relatively) cost efficient to ride. I see the tilting Harley really more aimed at someone that has issues with riding their Harley or other big bike, perhaps an older person or one with a developing disability, that still wants to ride a leaning device. I can't see the average Harley rider wanting to ride one of these as a daily driver after the initial novelty wore off. |

Our scoot is about 600 pounds, and a basic Harley is about 900 pounds. It is very easy to loose it at a light.
