hi all just wondering the above, as all my other bikes the throttle snaps back, but my 300gts doesnt, kind of slowly rolls back, ie its not a snap

what should it do?

All of mine have rolled back quickly, not a snap, enough to slow the bike abruptly.

Yours makes it easier to do hand signals.

Over time, the throttle grip can begin to bind on the bar-end weight. Easily cured - add a washer between the bar-end weight and the handlebar.

I imagine its the same on most cable throttle designs but on the BV350 there is an adjustment screw under the pet carrier where you can increase the 'return' tension and make the throttle snap back quicker.

Washer idea is good and i've used before to put less stress on the cable.

is there one on the gts300 if so where do i locate it

I'm seeing the same problem, except the throttle doesn't really return back at all. I'll try the washer idea and report back if it helps.

My old GS150 throttle used to stay put, which was great for riding no hands, but that would be dangerous with an automatic 300 cc scooter.

Washer did the trick. Seems to be a bit of a bad design for rainy locations. Vespa is back in full working order.
