I often use my scooter to run to the market and will usually Cart home 2-3 meals worth of groceries. Today I went to Walmart and came home with $180 worth of groceries and supplies. Now, that is serious shopping in my book. What about you guys.

Nice work! What did you carry that on? The BV? The Helix? Top box? Racks? I'd love to see *how* you carry all that.

It's my only vehicle so I routinely carry large loads. I added a vintage bag hook below my seat so I've got two to use. Making a run down to the artesian well to fill up is always fun. People are impressed by how much I can haul.

I've never set foot in a Walmart and I never will. I don't like their greedy ethos.

Oh yes the BV. Never got this much in my Helix though it's storage was very impressive. One bag of jeans under seat, bag with 150 foam plates hanging from package hook.

That cost $180.00 @ Walmart?😳 If I spent that at my Walmart I'd have to have a trailer to haul it all home.

That's an impressive load.

I thought Iwas getting some good loads.

My all time record, IIRC, is picking up a load of 8 locally processed chickens for the freezer. The weight wasn't all that bad (ca 60#), but I felt like I was transporting a body.

No that wasn't me. I don't ordinarily make it that far north. Live in the south part of the parish and don't usually make it north of the governors mansion. I have been down to Gonzales and St Amant as well as as far East as Covington using interstates and back roads. Now there's a new adventure going to New Orleans for service.

Not sure I want to leave my scooter at a shop in NO.

There is a fellow that is a greeter or such at Walmart in Central who rides a BV250 he has riden to south Florida a couple of times. I stopped him about a month ago and pointed out a 12" long patch of exposed cord on his rear tire. I haven't seen him or his bike since. Hope he didn't blow that tire and wrap it up. I live on the east side of the parish near central but regularly go south to Prairieville, St Amant, Port Vincent, Gonzales, north to Clinton, Osyka MS, Greensburg, west to Port Allen then down the river road to Luling. I don't frequent anything in town north of SpanishTown. New Orleans sounds like a great destination only if Louisiana would allow lane splitting....actually lane splitting would be useful in Baton Rouge traffic if you dare. (Recently sited as the deadliest city to drive in the US) Thank You "Green Light Baton Rouge"

I've already checked with them and if I give them at least a weeks notice they'll have the parts on hand. I can have it there at opening and they stated it would take a couple hours and I can ride it home when work completed. My route will either be I-10 or Airline Hwy to NO.

It's The Transportation Revolution New Orleans, TTRNO. I'm not as flexible as I used to be hence the scooter rather than a motorcycle.

Before i injured my foot in March 2015, I spent a couple years trying to pretend i didn't have a car, including getting all the groceries on the bike every fortnight. I got, like, KIT for the endeavor. i have a Facebook photo album dedicated to the cargo capacity of a GTS

Hauling Home with the Scooter
Ravenlore,

Great carrying set up. I think I am doing swell with
a box bungeed to the back rack and a plastic bag
suspended from the center hook.

See you at the "Land of 10,000 Scoots, Scooter Rally.
I am going to bungee a camp type folding lawn chair
on the back of my Vespa. I plan on setting up the chair
next to my Vespa and repose in comfort as I watch all
the scooters arrive.

Me thinks Lore has the grocery thing just about down to a science.
I've a 13"x18" basket on the back of my Buddy, have put enough in it that it took too much weight of my front wheel that steering &etc was 'interesting'.....

I run my Vespa to both local grocery stores, south east to Walmart for stuff I get there, stop at home to unload and put some things in the fridge, then off northeast a few blocks to Save-A-Lot for what I buy there. Have a plastic coated wire basket on the back, a cargo net, the space under the seat, and tell the clerks NO plastic bags. But I am not shopping for a big family and here I buy flour in 25 or 50 lb bags, both high gluten for breads and low gluten for other baked goodies. That is a car or truck trip out of my local area. And sugar also us usually bought in 25# bags and not very often. Used my Metro for shopping so now using the Vespa is easy and faster.

That is truly impressive. Since we don't have fortnights down here I go to the grocery every two to three days. Got to have an excuse to get out and ride.

actually I forgot I was on my scooter till I was already through the checkout on the load above. I probably would not have bought the pack of foam plates.

I did that once at Costco. I remember stuffing things inside my jacket and everywhere they would fit on the scooter. Got some interesting looks on the highway coming home.
