That's a structural section of the frame, I'd have it checked by a Vespa specialist.

As long as the spine in the middle is ok, it can be fixed. You should get it check out by one of those no paint, dent removal companies. I've seen some of the results and it is miraculous in some cases.

To beat it out you'd need access to the other side of the panel - it's a pain removing all the panelling. The metal is also quite tough to bend back on Vespas (certainly harder than on cars) and even harder to make it look like new. The other option is to fill it but I'm not sure how well it would stick. Then you'd probably look at spraying it - which usually means respraying the whole body - a big job.

I'd just learn to live with it, put it down to experience and this will cost you $0.

Gcat, that's perfectly fixable but if you want a factory finish it needs to go to a specialist who does that sort of thing. The dent can be pulled out ok but it may be too big for the no paint guys. It may need drilling and pulling then skimming prior to a paint job. The whole of the bike will not need to be painted, just that side of the leg shield. Matching and blowing in paint is now so easy for these guys who know what they are doing. However, try the 'no paint' guys first to see what they say.

If you would like to try and fix it yourself, you will have to get everything on the backside out of the way. Now, I will tell you my way. Which is probably not the best way, but it has worked for me: Get a heavy towel, fold it over a few times - this goes on the front side. Get a rubber mallet, hold the towel against the front with your legs and smack the back. A few different size rubber mallets will come in handy here as well as a soft faced hammer. This will get you mostly there. It will not smooth out a sharp crease but if you take your time, you may be surprised at the results. Good luck.
