Just wondering if anybody has any experience splitting a stella 4t case. I have a rattle in the gear box and need to inspect the guts. Can the case be split like a 2t in the frame or is it a mandatory pull and dismantle? Just wondering wich angle to attack this thing. So let the anti stella / four stroke humor roll but any experience you could share would be greatly appreciated.

You might get more laughs on the MV forum. Just a thought...

You would have a better chance of finding info for the 4T Stella on one of these two forums. The first is a US forum for Genuine Scooter Co owners, and the second is a UK forum for LML Scooters, and the Stella is an LML

I asked and no, you have to pull the head in order to split the 4T models.

MJ is correct, the head has to come off and it's best to just pull the entire motor.

as an aside, did you check out the clutch yet? i'm guessing that you did, but ya know, just in case you hadn't i thought that i'd ask.

i had one apart to do gears awhile back. it wasn't the most fun job, but there's worse things out there.

well cracked her open today and found the shift cross missing an arm, so that seems to be the issue. It tore up the driveshaft pretty good to so if anybody has a cheap source for those I'm all ears.
