Thinking of putting the ET4 engine in my ET2, so what parts will I need other than engine and CDI?

swap shop
Hi mate,
You will need the throttle cable as the 2t has a splitter for the autolube, the coil and a couple of changes to the wireing, namley the 125 is not negative ground out, the oil light pressure switch , the fuel warning light diode and the headlight / main beam is run from the battery and not the ac stator circuit.
You will also need the voltage regulator as the 125 is 3 phase out.
Haynes manual wiering diagram and you will be sorted.
Cheers Andy.

if and only if: you've got all of the parts to make the conversion (and got them cheap), have the necessary skills to do the job, have the space and the time to complete it.

depending on specifics of the donor and the patient you could need quite a few expensive or difficult to find bits.

good luck!

as far as i know for this bike the engine is a straight swap, however like others have said, you will need the electrics to go along with it, a lot of people would swap over the loom and any other specific parts when going from an et2 to an et4

As for is it worth it? well that all depends on what you would like to get from the bike, I have owned a couple of et4's and an et2 that i did a mild sport tune on, the et2 with a 70cc kit, carb and pipe was able to outperform any et4, with the disadvantage of being less reliable if the owner didnt know how to properly look after it.

the et4 on the other hand. the motor would have no problem getting up to 55-60mph and sitting there all day with very little outside of regular maintenance
