Ok, so I completed my first oil change. I put a 1.5 quarts in, then another .5 quarts, and finally another .5 quarts and the oil just started to show at the minimum point on the dipstick. It seems like the 250 and 400 only require half this amount. Is this correct or am i missing something?

did you screw the dipstick all the way back in when checking the level?

sounds like you have over filled it.

Not sure about all this pouring in oil, then checking it... then adding more.
It sounds like you put in to much.

Go to Walmart, get yourself one of these Rubbermaid containers.
It has ML on one side, and cups on the other.

Experiment with your Oil levels and mark to your preferred level.
Drain it, fill the container, and pour it in... Done !

Adding my Oil Stick view after pouring in Oil, and running engine for about 3 mins. This is where I keep it. Put to much, it goes to your Air Filter.

Yes, I would screw the dipstick all the way in.

I thought the manual said to add 1.5 quarts, start it up and then let it cool down for 5 minutes and check the level. top off as needed.

Did i really add too much oil? Should i check the oil while it's on the center stand or no on the center stand?

I've been using this to gauge how much oil

straight from the owners manual:
Every time the vehicle is used, visually inspect the level of the engine oil when the engine is cold (after completely unscrewing the oil cap/dipstick). The oil level should be somewhere between the MAX and MIN reference marks on the dipstick «A»; during the oil check, the vehicle must be resting on its centre stand on an even, horizontal surface.
If the check is carried out after the vehicle has been used, and therefore with a hot engine, the level line will be lower; in order to carry out a correct check, wait at least 10 minutes after the engine has been stopped so as to get the correct level.

no real need for something to measure oil in. every bottle of oil has marks already on them.

Do not fill to the full/max mark on the dip stick. run your oil level half way between max and min.
