Wow, I didn't think my locations would be that hard to get to. Maybe the ones who know them don't want to go, and the ones who would like to go don't know them.

So, why don't you who can't make it but know one or more of the places, post the details here, so we have at least an off-road photo tag of some kind

Some final clues:

#1, how it really looks

It is in the center of a big circle and the city gave the county its name <cough>

The main entrance:

I'm resigning being IT and maybe whoever wants to be the next one just go to wherever and take a picture in your Orange County neighborhood.

Ah yes, the Orange Plaza traffic circle. Lots of childhood memories. I used to drive around that circle every day on the way to elementary school. Don't know what's there these days, but 15 years ago (when I moved to Oregon) there were lots of antique stores, a cosmotology school, and an army/navy surplus store. I bought an old dresser in one of the antique stores. Every Christmas they would set up a huge Santa, Snowman, and Nativity Scene, and it would be all lit up.

Yeah, those stores are all still there. Directly in the cirlce are a great Cuban restaurant (Felix), next to a cigar lounge and a coffee shop. All of those three are just to the left of the far corner in my picture.

Every summer they make it look very international, assigning old world countries to different sections of Chapman and Glassell.
It is just a nice piece of grown US culture, and a rare one in this southland.

Ahh I didn't know anyone was playing an OC scooter photo tag game.

I definitely could have gotten the plaza, Mining Company, and Orange Hill. I live a minute away from the Circle and I pass by the Mining Company and Orange Hill every Monday and Wednesday on the way to class.

Damn Randall,

Welcome to the game. So, go for the fountain today or for one of the other two next Monday. By the rate this thread is moving, the other lurkers will still be...lurking

I happened to be down there recently, and attempted to get the nekid surfer, but it didnít save on my phone camera.

I donít particularly want to highjack this game, but I do have a pic to share.

I used to hang at this surf shop, back in the day.

And for the new one, you can pick either of these two:

or

Amazing, both are under the same sky!

Heck, if it helps you, go ahead and tag my signature shot. I didn't take that today, though.

I might go get it so I can leave a SAVA burnout mark on their sidewalk

Nope, not dead

Laguna Beach, Festival of the Arts, Pageant of the Masters
I love their Halloween twist - "Pageant of the Monsters" heeheehee

Vespa of Newport Beach

For the new tag, I'm taking Spock's suggestion and moving it away from the beach. Let's see if he's right and more OC scooterists are induced to join the game.

time to make this "fake"?
Since the riders of real scooters have neglected, abandoned or never even begun to participate in this thread of scooter tag, is it time to follow Johnnycat into the "fake" world of photoshop? Might be fun.
Do we need a ruling from the judges?

I don't consider myself a judge but since I started this sleepy thread, I suggest: whatever gets people out there riding and posting about it is fine with me.

Thanks Karen for caring so much about your neigbors over here.

Yay ScooterFish

I don't know where your new tag is. I'll see if Google will be my friend because I have a little time to ride tomorrow. (Maybe post a clue if nobody gets it by Friday or so.)

Found your tag. Can probably get it on my way home on Tuesday.
That is, unless you can drum up some interest from the other OC folks.
Hey Ifixjets - wanna play?

Damn, that almost looks like my scoot, and I would have taken a photo there, nice scoot, nice photo and GO Angels.

Hey snapshot05, are you riding to SD for the Almost Yuma and/or Second Sunday rides? If so, you can grab this tag on the way.

Colin and I are trucking it down for the Yuma ride. I dont think the scoot in the truck will count. But I will do.

Thanks

Snapshot - Thanks. Yeah, it looks like our scoots are (or were by the look of some of your recent pics) very similar. All I can say is that you have remarkable taste....

...and maybe someday after I get over the initial purchase shock (and the low bank account that comes with it) I will begin on some cusomizing...

Let's see if we can build some momentum here...tag.

Irvine Lake Lagoon...very sneaky getting one that needs an admission to get into...unless of course you have a scoot and sidestep the gate...

I wanted to volunteer on that ship, some ten years ago, but their schedule was too demanding for what I could do.
It would take me about 20 minutes to get there from work, and if Iget out in time tomorrow and don't forget, I might just swing by and take a dusk shot.

Glad you beat me to it, I made it there this evening. Did you also see the other one?

I know your new tag. It is very "lively" there
Actually, my signature image was taken on that road, further up the hill in the twisties.

The Brig 'Pilgrim' Dana Point Harbor
It's a replica of the historic Pilgrim tall ship from the Richard Henry Dana Jr.'s novel "Two Years Before the Mast." Tours are given by docents in authentic costume from the time period. They just moved out of the frame when I took the picture. Dang. I mean, Arrrrgh!

I'm too late. I was there this morning. On the way home, I think I saw Moped (about 6:30 or so). I posted after dinner and found two of you beat me to it. Good job!

yeah, i saw one comming out on my way in that crossed pch.
then while out past the light before pch i saw one in the right lane, i was around there at 6-7 so chances are we all saw eachother either going in or comming out. wierd.

but i dont think i saw another scooter at cooks tonight. just stopped in to have a smoke before i took the picture of trabucco. i wanted to take one of it under the tree's but there were too many crosses on the turnouts. (would be somewhat morbid to have a tag right next to a cross with someones name on it.)
