Today is the first day of school for our youngest. It is his first day of Jr. High School. He is a shy kid and has been quietly stressing about not knowing anyone and being the new kid at a new school.
I dropped him off on the scoot this morning at the doors of the school, and the moment he got off and began removing his helmet, he was literally swarmed by kids, some of whom he knew from his old school but also a lot of new faces too (many older than him).
The question I heard most frequently during the shouted greetings (in Hebrew, of course), and back-slapping was, "Cool, you get to ride around with your dad on that?!".
So much for all that worry he had about being the new kid in a new school.
My work here is done.
