ok just looked it up after an hour and it appears to be an evapectomy of sorts. which would explain why its ran 6 months like that?

can anyone confirm?

actually this would probably explain why it dies every other month once, a day or on the same day its fueled up(and overfilled half the time, i didnt know!!!), starts back up and is fine for another 1000 miles. sheesh it probably wouldnt start back up if it wasnt cut too.

It looks like a valve in the EVAP system. Is that the charcoal canister above it?

I think so, I'm absolutely certain at this point. Will this cause it to stall? I heard of people cutting these things out on purpose, do I need to get it fixed?

Yep! The vacuum lines go through the EVAP system and the carb, fuel tap, SAS all are affected. I've read all about it on here but didnt' get to experience it firsthand until last month. Removing the EVAP lines seriously was a night and day change.

I don't know the GTS EVAP systems enough to definitively say yes or no. However, since it's just a small piece of hose and how badly I've seen an engine run with a faulty EVAP system, I'd replace that small section of hose. Pull the old stuff off and see if you can buy new stuff by the foot at an auto parts store and jam it on. Won't hurt anything.

Nope. Duct tape won't seal it enough for the vacuum that goes through it. Gotta replace it. Vacuum line from the auto parts store is cheap.
