i test drove a 2005 Limited Edition PX150... very cool retro feel but looked so new too!

I loved the 2 stroke pop n burble and it accelerated pretty good

but a couple things:

really firm front brake which felt like it was either On or off. is this normal on this model? my LX150 has a much smoother, more normal feel

Lurching into 1st gear when shifting from Neutral. Idle seemed pretty normal, so does this model always 'notch' into 1st pretty abruptly?

Slight lurch into 1st is normal, just make sure you have the clutch play adjusted properly.

My front brake is very smooth - albeit there's very little travel on the lever, it engages very quickly.

My front disc brake is exactly as witchtrip says. How many miles are on the pads? What's the disc look like? The hydraulic cylinder isn't likely to behave how you're describing.

Here's a tip for smooth shifting from N to 1st...
Push off forward ever so slightly while shifting to 1st.

Last PX and Stella disc breaks that I rode were on/off for me. I barely used two fingers just pushing it to have it stop.

As for the scoot lurching going into 1st gear.....

Mine does this when I'm starting off for the first time after the scoot has sat for a while. What I do is pull the clutch lever, hold it for a few seconds, and release, all while staying in neutral. I do this sometimes 2 or 3 times, then shift into first. It seems to make it a little less clunky.
