I was thinking it might be cool to post the locations of some fun riding roads in your city.
Here's one that I have fun on-
From the corner of Hunte Parkway and Otay Lakes road in Chula Vista- head east on Otay Lakes road until you hit Campo road. Turn right on Campo road and continue on as long as you'd like.
Lot's of twisties on Otay Lakes road and lots more on Campo road.
This is in the south east corner of San Diego, so it may be a little drive to get there, but if you have some free time it's a fun way to spend it

Anyone else?

This is probably the most-travelled (i.e., popular) "twisty" road in the Bay Area that is easily accessible. Sure, there are tons more, but few I think that are so popular among motorcyclists, sports car drivers, and bicyclists.

It's called Skyline Blvd. - runs along the top of the Santa Cruz Mtn. range. There are cross-streets along the way, as you can see, that allow for various points of entry and exit, either from the Bay side of the range, or the coast.

Proceed and turn Left onto Riverview road-twists, turns and river views.
Pass Szalay's-stop for fruit, pumpkins, etc depending on season
Another left-forget the name-to the Blue Heron rookery
Left on Peninsula road and up Truxell Road (watch out for deer and turkey!!)

we have a mini dragon close by in birmingham. it's a nice coal mining road that's pretty desolate on the weekends with 97 turns in 7 miles. i'm waiting until it gets a little cooler in the fall to tackle it.

In the Albuquerque area it only takes 15 minutes to get out of town in any direction but most of the cool roads are 30-45 minutes away.

'South 14', Frost Road, Hwy 217, and the Sandia Crest Road are all great to the east of town.

'North 14' on the way to Santa Fe is an awesome road to the north of town.

The drive to Jemez Springs and the Valle Grande can't be beat in this area (about 1 hour NW of town)

Not too much exciting in town except Rio Grande Blvd (follows the Rio Grande through mostly older neighborhoods) - slow and curvy on some parts.

Have fun riding!

We ate our fill of fresh-roasted corn and lemonade at Szalay's today! I just finished the last of the strawberry-rhubarb cupcake too. YUM! Great destination.

I just drove it in my car, plan to scoot it really soon (probably take a half day off of work to do it) and I'll scoot it with any MV member who has a mind to. Stillwater to Taylors Falls, MN. 30 miles one way. Not super twisty, just a nice tree and farm lined road along the St. Croix river with a few beautiful scenic spots and small towns along the way. Max speed 55 mph, nice lunch spots on both ends.

Anyone up for it?

Meet at Vespa Cleveland on Miles Rd. Head North on Brainard along I 271 (4 lane and wide open) to to Fairmount Bl then East to Gates Mills Blvd (all four lane 35 mpm wide open little traffic) to Brigham Rd. Down into Gates Mills. Stop at old Inter-urban street car bridge. Then South on River Rd (gorgeous Chagrin River Valley) to Polo Field at So. Woodland , cross river and bear right on the longest brick road in the County: Falls Rd. Up to Main St. Up Main St to Grove Hill-down into Chagrin Falls. Park on Main and take in the two waterfalls and quaint town. Beautiful anytime but spectacular in the Fall. Bring your camera!

Cool, that's my old backyard (moved out) but the mom still lives there so I'm in the area often. I plan on being in the area tomorrow (Sunday) morning actually. If you want to go for a ride give me a call, I'll PM it to you. Cheers-Todd

Woodward is fun to ride, especially with most of it re-finished... Dream Cruise traffic and crowds are starting to form though, I was surrounded by classic cars on my ride home Friday. Probably the last time I'll ride it for a week and a half.

Here's my usual loop.

Ride up over Mt. Tam, or along the coast up to Pt. Reyes Station.

Stop there for gas and a coffee and croissant at the Bovine Bakery

Ride up toward Tomales, but turn just before town onto the Tomales-Petaluma Rd.

Hang a right at Chileno Valley road and take it to Hicks Valley.

Hicks Valley up to Pt. Reyes-Petaluma, past the cheese factory to Nicasio

Then in Nicasio either take Lucas Valley, or go back through San Geronimo to Fairfax.

In Fairfax options are go back over Mt. Tam or suburb streets back to Mill Valley

And there you have it. About 100 miles of pure fun.

Dood. I'd be hitting the Bay shacks for oysters and beer all season long... Yum!
