Hello fellow mp3 riders, I just had an experience with my MP3 the other day after traveling 20km my check engine light came on so i turned engine off then turn the engine back on again still check engine is on....so i shut down engine and waited for 2 minutes before restarting and the check engine light was off...on way back home it happens 2x again but for only short time the check engine light just turn off after less than a minute... I grounded my MP3 for now..anybody had this experience? is this serious? thanks mates for your replies.

First thing to check is your charging system. It's not uncommon for the voltage regulator to fail giving extra high volts to the system. Often the check engine light is the first warning - the second is when your battery fails...

Try changing the Plug too...
I had that happen once with Bad Gas, and cleaned the tank.
Put in a new plug, and it's been fine every since.

Hi.

A friend of mine who had an MP 3 500 had this problem for weeks and despite several enquiries he still could not sort it.

His last ditch effort was the Lambda probe. Fitted and bingo the EML finally went away.

Or the obvious.......low on oil. Probably too easy though.

They're two different lights. The oil pressure warning light is red, and the check engine light is amber...
