Hey Y'all, I'm a 5 year rider. Started on a 2010 150 & Now driving a 2005 Grandtorismo 200 with the way nifty retractable foot pegs and under the seat hand grips for a rider. I've never carried one before and last time I was one was in the mid 80's and all I recall about it was I was told not to lean. Anyone help me with advice ir a video link? Back in college, I roomed with a guy who was an amateur road racer, he knew his stuff.

I rode cupcake with him a number of times on his CB 750, and he told me three things:

1) Just go where the bike goes. Don't lean left or right, just relax and keep your body in line with where the bike is leaning....

2) Don't make any sudden moves, especially when you're stopped or going slow. If you need to shift or shake something out, let the driver know first.

3) Don't put your feet down. It's up to the driver to steady the bike at stops, and to bring his feet up when it gets going.

Years later I owned a tandem bicycle, and all of these ideas came into play as the "captain" of the bicycle. My stokers learned to not lean too far, not to squirm (try that on a 5 year old!), and not to put their feet down.

Thank you very much. I'm a 12 throat cancer survivor and radiation treatments left me with short term memory loss. All if what you said sounds familiar. It was the 80's after all. Your friend & MIME: Kevin "Rocket" Riley "Retired Love God of the '80's" Plano TX 75025
