Societal attitudes and tastes change with time. 130 years I'd had thought that list would have been longer.
Still my favorite though, (my teen years)

The impression that I take away from that list is how bland the slogans have become in the last few years. I have heard of several of them. Some, even from the early days but I can't recall hearing any of the ones after 1982.

We spent 28 days on a South Pacific cruise with my brother and his wife, she's a major Diet Pepsi addict! Thought she was going to go into major withdrawal as it seems Coke products control that part of the world!

I didn't notice that one. I've always been under the impression that was 'coined' by Theodore Roosevelt in referance to Maxwell House Coffee.

W it probably would. Laughing emoticon Between the caffeine and the coca you would get a little buzz. Whenever you travel in the Andes they give you coca tea to help with your altitude headache. It works. Brought home a bunch of coca tea bags by accident. I'm surprised i made it thru customs. Every once in a while i get a really bad allergy headache. One cup of coca tea and i'm good to go. Doesn't give me a buzz either. I suppose if i steeped it a long while or use a bunch of tea bags i'd get a buzz but that's not the point of why i take it. Better than the damn shots they give you. Only trouble is you'll piss positive for cocaine.

Technically, it does still contain coca, or at least the extract for flavoring (gotta make yer novocaine somehow):

I find it so hypocritical that they want to ban the use of coca leaves but give narcotics instead. The leaves aren't addicting and are natural. You only need a cup of weak tea to get rid of the HA. Yet it's ok to give narcotics. Doesn't make any sense IMHO.

Judy I think you answered your own question, it's "natural" if the drug companies can mix some chemicals together and sell it for 1,000 times the cost to make it someone gets rich.

If you can get the same effect from some leaves off a plant in your garden you feel better but they can't buy that yacht to live on for 6 months out of the year.

K well said. When i worked and lived on the Indian Reservations in AZ and NM i went out in the desert with a Apache and Navajo medicine man (separate trips Laughing emoticon ). They showed me all kinds of natural herbs and what they were good for. Top one for the Navajo was Peyote. They had a card that allowed them to carry it when they were off the Rez. Never tried any of it but it helped them with their "vision quests".

Mexican Coke still has the cane sugar. Walmart's sell it near me in fact, not that I buy it. Diet Coke in Mexico tastes crappy!
I'm a Dr.pepper guy...

My wife is caffeine sensitive if she gets a big dose and it also keeps her up a long time, thus she buys caffeine free. It actually cause her pain. Chick-fil-a & Wendy's are the few fast foods that have it among all food places for that matter. When it's on sale at mkt they used to have it in 24pks not any more, just 12pks or 6 pks. Some areas there is none in Walmarts for some regional reason. Gluten is the new avoid it item, apparently not caffeine.
FWIW, OP, I have been through the Coke Museum in ATL and probably heard it all there?
