Sometimes in the morning my X9 takes a long time to get started. It's like the fuel pump lost its prime and I have to crank it for about 20-30 seconds for it to get gas. Then sometimes it starts right up.

Is there something I can check to be sure it's the fuel pump. I would hate to replace the fuel pump and that wasn't the problem.

Check the "CDI Remote Control Switch" (relay) is getting power and is working OK. Dirty contacts on fuse 2 can be a problem. Diagrams and manual:
