sponge bob
Hi sutty,
The sponge in the diaphram is the air filter from the .cv intake balance port that has biodegraded and been sucked in.
You will need to replace it or shit will get sucked in and make short work of grinding the diaphragm body and seal to bits.
I use a piece of stocking, others use a piece of air filter, just make sure it's free flowing or your plunger will not rise and you will run rich and bog down.
Cheers Andy

Filter the sh1t out
hi sutty,
in the first picture you have a round piece of yellow plastic, the filter lives in there and the plastic retains it.
cheers Andy.
