Moved my 09 400 down to Naples Florida. Time to replace my original Michelin Gold Standards ? What is the best tire for straight roads with sand and rain ?

I'd say the replacement that is most like the Gold Standard is the Michelin City Grip. It is a good tire.

+1
Yup.
I get ~8,000 miles on a rear City Grip, and replaced the fronts after ~22,000 miles. Just starting to get a bit squirrely up front.

I had the metzgers on my last scoot. I have replaced my city time with another city. I have seen very good erformance and reliability with it. T he met her is a fantastic tire as well by the way but my personal opinion for over all function is the city. I don't really agree on the longevity of it however. I only got about 6500 on the rear (I'm at 12ish now) but the fronts are still going strong with minimal wear on them.

I replaced my tires with Michelin City Grips. Love them so far. Even in snow.

I replaced my rear tire back in August with the Bridgestone Battlax. Really nice tire. Sticky and about the same price as the City Grip. I don't know about the mileage on the tire as i did not have a long time to ride on it, but overall feel is much better than the City Grip in my opinion. I will replace the fronts with the Bridgestone's when it is time to replace the City Grips. It is much more of a sport tire than the overall touring of the City Grip.
