Hi, All:
We are in the middle of a very weird winter here in Central Ohio, in the USA. We had extremely cold temperatures early in the season, and record breaking high temperatures in Feb./Mar. I have not had my GTV out for a ride, since the late Fall season. Upon reaching "Advanced Maturity", and 85yrs. of age, I,v had some major physical & mental health loss. The physical loss is mostly due to arthritis, and is bad, but, the mental, memory loss, due to a fall on my head, in my basement, is near impossible, to deal with. I can't remember whether I have answered messages, sent to me, on this great Forum, or not. So, While I am still able, I would like to Thank all the great Friends here on the Modern Vespa Forum, for their friendship, and gifts. Some of the gifts were quite substantial. I would also like to apologize to anyone that I have offended, or neglected to answer, that may have sent messages to me.
I want all of you folks to know, that your friendship has meant a lot to me.
Lowell

Hi Lowell,

Gosh, I've been around for a few years and doubt you've offended anyone. It's been good having you here.

Sorry about the challenges you're facing. Growing older isn't always a lot of fun. Hope things maintain, even improve for you. Glad you were able to scoot last fall. I have a patient with significant spinal cord issues from an old injury, IIRC in his '70s, walks with canes. Still has a Harley that he pushes out of the garage to polish, but hasn't ridden in years.

Best,

Dave

Lowell,

I hope you get better soon.

I'm a brand new scooter guy--I don't even have it yet! I'm buying a Piaggio LT 150, mainly for a new ten mile commute to work.

What advice might you give a complete, clueless novice?

Bob

Lowell,
I hope I even own a Vespa when I am your age and remember what it is.
You are doing great and thank you for checking in and sharing your life adventures

Lowell i've been around here a long time and you've never offended anyone. Sorry to see you have to hang up your helmet. Going to happen to us all eventually but good for you for knowing when it's time. You can still read MV and impart your knowledge to us "youngins". Don't be a stranger on here.

Bummer about the fall that effects your memory. I do hope there can be something that can be done to help you. I have always enjoyed your posts and the fact that in your 80s you still ride. Gives me hope that my retirement years will be fulfilling for many years.

Best wishes for a great riding season coming up. SW Ohio has had a similar winter season, and I'm hopeful we have seen the last of our bitterly cold weather.

Lowell, even if you did "offend" someone for some reason (which I am certain you didn't), you have no need to apologize. Like on the Christmas exchange, I think the thanks are inferred here.

Hope you are feeling better and hope that you get well enough to ride this summer!

Join the vast migration of Buckeyes from Ohio to Charleston. It's a very cold 67 degrees today, but most days are warm. For some reason, this seems to be the place people from Ohio end up when they move South. We'd love to have you here.
