I have one of those two piece sheet metal headsets that I think only came on some model AllStates. Nice & easy for access doing cable work .
I thought I had tracked down all the pieces, but after assembly I can see that I'm missing some kind of latch part that goes on the end of the over center spring to hook under the forged steel stem mount. If anybody has this mystery piece available, that would be great but not likely. But how about some pics if you have an AllState w/ this headset? It would be greatly appreciated, TIA!

I am embarrassed but relieved to report that I found the missing latch at the bottom of a box of random parts. I won't be able to use it though until I can find a headlight rim that will fit.
October, if you or anybody else has a rim for one of these headets I would really appreciate some pics, especially the connection points. The closest I've found so far is this one, but I hope to find a used one the right size even if I have to modify it to fit the '58 Allstate headset. I really prefer used, still functional parts for this scooter even if they are scruffy.
