Evening all, do indicators on PX run off the battery?

Mine would not work until the bike had been running for 10 mins or so, now it's getting longer and longer before they start working.

The battery is old and does not hold a charge, just thought I'd make sure that was the problem before I shell out for a new one.

no, the battery only works the horn and the electric start

depends on market and year. Most bikes Piaggio equipped with a battery that have turn signals run them off of the battery. while i would believe that piaggio would do a battery and AC turn signals on the same bike, this is very much not how they normally did them.

It's a 2001 UK-market 125.
What would it be then if not battery related?

could be a few things, but what you are describing is textbook iffy battery.

2001 PX would be a DC system. You can use jumper wires or a charger on the battery to check if it's battery related. If the indicators work immediately (without starting the engine) then it's your battery. If not, then check the indicator relay (green little box - behind battery case)...

could it also be an issue with the side panels not 'clipped' in properly? When I bought my PX the guy was saying something about it being important that they fit close

PX indicators DO NOT work off the battery, check all earths, wiring at switch, if that all looks ok try a new relay
