Sounds nice...
Now if it can be adjusted to be lower, that would even be better for some of us "Shorties"...

The usual way to mount piggyback rear dampers is with the reservoir at the top, thereby reducing unsprung weight. Looking at the pics the signwriting seems to suggest that they are installed correctly. Could they be inverted though, or is there too little room around the top mounting point.

I suppose this is all academic with a scoot, but just asking

I had the same question as you, it's the official notice Bitubo that convinced me of the direction of mounting ....

I like the Painted Support Frame...

That would blend in nice with my LeoVince Nero.
I need to find me a used one on ebay and get one powder coated for my next Tire Change. I have a spare for my MP3/250, (Same as Vespa GTS) I probably will do that one too.

Those look good. I wouldn't mind a set, but I plan on looking at upgrading to the 500 maybe at the end of the year or early next, so I am going to hold off spending any money at this point.

I know they always made the one you posted (Normal Stock Replacement), but I was interested in this Newer Model.

Thanks for Checking...

I just ordered through Easyparts.nl (484 Euro's)
They can have it to me in about 6 days.

I am going to mount on the MP3/250 (Old Shock Rubber looking bad),
and if it sits lower then stock?
I may order another one for the MP3/500 Sport, but I do like the Hagon Shocks I have on it now.

Thanks to my friend in France for the Part Number.
That make things easy...
Easyparts new right away this is a "Joint Venture" with Bitubo and Piaggio to make these, and they are sold as a Piaggio Performance Accessory.

Editing this post...
I didn't think to ask if these Shocks will fit on the MP3/250, so I may be cancelling this order. The Parking Brake on the MP3/250 looks like it may hit the adjustment Cylinder on the Right Rear???, unless you mount them to the Top which I think they would fit which would be the opposite of these pictures posted here.

Great to have a tailor made alternative / upgrade to the standard shocks. Just wondering how much drop in ride height they can provide?

That's a good question.
They are supposed to be Stock Replacements, so I would think they should be similar height. But I sure will experiment after installing.

Where I got lucky, I always struggled with the Height of the MP3's, but when I installed the Piaggio Gel Seat for my Older 2009 MP3/250 as the Replacement to the Stock one, you sort of Sink Down in this seat. So it worked out for me...

Here is the link to that Seat on easyparts.nl, they also have one that actually sits higher listed as well.

https://www.easyparts.nl/category/0-1688-168-377-1646/Piaggio-MP3-125-%3E500-06-13.html

For the 2016 500 Sport ABS, I had to lower with the Hagon Shocks...

Interesting you say this about being installed possibly upside down?
I sent this picture to someone asking how will this work on a MP3/250 with the Parking Brake on the Right Rear. The MP3/500 had Brake inside of the Rim... They said the picture of this install was done wrong, the reservoir is supposed to be at the top. Ouch...

I cancelled my order for the Piaggio/Bitubo Shocks.
They only fit MP3/400 and MP3/500 bikes with similar shock mounting configuration.

For the worried

Here is a translation of what the official notice Piaggio (distribution to the dealer network) says. The first page of the document confirms the mounting direction, reservoir at the bottom. The second page says:

- A better comfort and a better reaction of the vehicle adapted to all the situations, whether on road or on track.
- Variable pitch springs with micrometric adjustment, no tools required.
- Adjustment of the hydraulic compression by means of a button.
- Replacement oil / gas tank for better cooling when used intensively.

I do like how they look on a bike.. the question is - how to adjust them properly? I adjusted spring preload in such way that Z3-Z1 (driver sag) is 27 mm, and made spring more stiff, but in the same time switched shocks compression to more soft side..am I wrong?

sounds about right.

ride it over the same path and do some minor adjustments to your liking until you find what you like
