Just picked ip a PK 50..also known as the HP4...ie small frame.It was abandoned so I have no history It also came with a box of stuff including entire top end, crank carb. which all looked good(piston and barrel no scores

So it appears the internals have been up graded...or replaced....but why would you replace a good 50 top end with another 50 top end

More likely they up graded...Im hoping to cut crank, 135 cc, bigger carb

Other than pulling it apart is there any way to ID parts externally.

The clutch cover is the only bit missing.Bent clutch lever. Broken clutch cable

I risked it and it runs/ starts but with no clutch cover and oil I didn't ride it

Speed would quickly ID capacity..however Im loath to open up a nicely running engine

any way to Id parts externally?

At some.point the jugs get physically bigger. Numbers on the jug.

You can check stroke by pulling the plug and sticking a towel in the hole.
