You guys raised this to an art form while I wasn't looking!

And it looks like a whole lot more fun than what I've been doing

L,

You should'a jumped in for that LHC pic a few tag's back. Right up your alley.

Should definitely join again now, because if that thing unleashes a few, nasty, all-earth-consuming, mini black holes when they fire it up for real in a few more weeks....then we won't have many more days left to play tag!! (Or ride our Vespas for that matter!) Crying or Very sad emoticon

This was home to Major William T. Sutherlin.

For one week, April 3-10, 1865, Major and Mrs. Sutherlin opened their home to Jefferson Davis and the Confederate government. In this house, he wrote and delivered his final proclamation to the Confederacy on April 4th.

Largely because of the events documented in this house during the Confederacy's final week, it served as the last capital of the Confederate States of America.

In the last tag I was scooting through Danville, VA...for this tag I'm in a near-coastal Georgia town (arguably the prettiest in the state) scooting past the scene of an infamous 1981 murder which inspired a bestselling non-fiction book and Hollywood movie (seemingly loosely based on the book and actual events).

So on the way down did you stop here for gas.

BTW, for our East Coast brethren out in VA and GA that maybe didn't recognize this tag....if you ever travel out to LA and want to ride this, don't look for "Snott's" (the West Coast affectionate name cynner used) Razz emoticon

Just head to "KNOTT's Berry Farm" instead.

I grew up in southern California, where we frequently went to Snott's, DismalLand, and Tragic Mountain.

Hint for my above picture: Zippy the Pinhead goes there on occasion.

well I think (at least for myself) I need a little more of a hint.

Sorry your Wayne's World reference only brought up Alice Cooper and that really doesn't look like an Alice Cooper cover.

Yep...need a hint. The image is Half Dome from Glacier Point, and appears to be by S. C. Walker. The better known version of this photo has the three hikers standing. But what album or artist? No clue.

OK. It's a modern classical album, and the composer lives in Berkeley. Quip, I thought you'd easily know this one.

You're right! None of the above. But you're on the right track: he's Japanese!

I have a weath of hints I can drop, but will hold back until pressed by more than one participant.

Hint: His death, in 1970, received worldwide coverage. I'm listening to highly relevant music on my iTunes as I write this.

(Amended to expand the hint.)
