Atom Ant! It's scary the things you just know, someplace in the dim recesses of the mind.

I believe this was the photo you altered...couldn't find one like it without the character name.

Now you REALLY need to go way, way, waaaaay back for this one: the first interactive children's television program. Clear vinyl plastic screens available for purchase at your local Newberry's store that would adhere by virtue of static to your TV screen so you could draw a bridge or a ladder to help the character out of a jam.

Unless, of course, you had a mom like mine who wouldn't spring for the "kit" - it was pretty pricey at 50 cents - and actually gave me a piece of waxed paper to use instead. No static action, and the view through waxed paper is truly suboptimal. Laughing emoticon In desperation I once drew directly on the TV screen with one of my crayolas...which wasn't one of the official special crayons, but still did its job.

Just the name should do it, but you may need to look through a few extra pages

Here you go! But I unfortunately thought you meant the name of the sub - the Seaview - rather than the name of the show - Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea - and spent a lot of time adrift.

This next one is perhaps more obscure...unless, of course, you're a fan of an early science fiction show or like to see early outings by actors who went take the helm at a more recent science fiction show. (Movies too.)

Actually, this was a pretty famous episode of this show.

You'll find this image in the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition.....nah, you'll find it quickly on GIS!

All you need is the name of the series, and the name of the episode...which is the same as what this creature out the window is supposed to be.

That's what you got if you feed this little guy after midnight.

Now to find him you're going to need his name.

Which is not the name of the movie or the one Hoyt Axton gave him.

Before he was a "Hero" this intense actor played the title character in a short-lived TV series on Fox in 1996. Interestingly, the first episode after the two-part pilot was called "Hero."

This was a dark, wonderfully twisted show, but it was ahead of its time and after airing the two-part pilot and one episode Fox would prempt then show the next two episodes before pulling it after five.

There's a really BIG hint in my description: two references to the current TV show in which he appears. Said show is "heavily advertised" as they say, including an ad during the Superbowl with the characters playing football and reminding people to tune in on Monday night. If you can't remember his name, a quick look at the cast list for that show will yield his name, at which point this is simple.

Happy hunting!

ok,

Name this was 1998 comedy starring Bill Crystal and a Romanian NBA player.

Crystal also co-wrote the story. The story was inspired by professional wrestler André the Giant, whom Crystal had met during the filming of The Princess Bride.

The movie was "My Giant." Here's the DVD cover with the title and tag.

Side comment: As you might imagine, GIS for the term "My Giant" was...um...interesting. Perhaps it's time to turn "safe search" back on.

Staying with the costumed superheroes theme.

This is from the up coming movie based on the 1986 limited series comic book of the same name.

This is a test and if you know it, it's really pretty black and white.

But to pass you'll need both the character's real name and superhero name.

On my way to selecting another dystopian city view to post, I found myself inspired to give a shout out to the man responsible for dozens of dystopias. He brilliantly imagines an often bleak interstitial future, positioned somewhere between the needs of humanity and the nature of technology. (She says in her best faux professorial voice.)

If you need clues, I'll provide them in a bit. But if you've ever read any of his books, you'll recognize him right away from his author photo. And you can find this photo with our topic and the name of one of his more well-known books.
