But I have to wonder how you go from hanging out on the beach with two half clothed babes to the Jefferson Bible.
Hmmmmm,
Are we a little worried about Matthew 5:27-30?
Matthew 5:27-30? "You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.'[a] 28But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell."
You trying to accuse me of something after my last couple of tags, Messy?
I thought about including an explanation, but thought the tag was wordy enough.
Nope, no ulterior religious and/or political statement. Just a fan of irony. I thought it was funny that a conservative friend of mine posted a Jefferson quote on Facebook to support his position against the health care bill (as if that quote sealed the deal) right after I'd read about the conservative Texas Board of Education trying to gloss over the founding father's influence on the birth of the nation*. (*According to some.) Got me thinking about Jefferson, his version of the Bible, etc. and how the founding fathers are used today like religious texts themselves, how they're words are revered as Holy Writ while some of their actions are swept under the carpet (like owning slaves, adultery, etc.). Like any religious text, they're sort of all things to all people. I mean, I'm sure you can find a Jefferson quote to support the belief that extraterrestrials constructed the
Face on Mars.
Yeah, no connection. Just humoring myself. Carry on.
