SaFiS—fantastically generous offer! Thank you! I’ll tuck that in my mental pocket for later.... it IS a sleek Euro taillight, like skinny jeans for Vespa

I MUST see pics of your blue P!

First ride of the season!!!! Feeling sheer joy and jubilance!

It was 82 degrees today and my birthday was this weekend. I always hope for that first Vespa ride as a magical birthday present of experience. And it WAS!!!!

Blue started up strong on the second kick after all winter of cold garage languish.

She ran like a smooth spinning top, knock on wood.

The potholes here are Grand Canyons of Death and one must ride very attentively and cautiously. Or else vanish into yawning gaping asphalt hole.

All of our lakeside roadways are open after last year’s COVID closures.

I’m in heaven!!!!

Happy Spring to all!

And rode it like I stole it, unless I was dodging the potholes. Which turned into a fun twisty turny game

Surprised the start of your season is much later than expected. We had a few warm days mixed in with rain in nyc so even if you didn't ride below 60 there is occasionally a few days of decent temps.

I know the feeling of fun weaving around massive pot holes around here so i bet you had a good time! Scooter looks awesome and the rides sound fun. Congrats on getting the season started!

Greetings:

I kept hoping the beautiful (albeit Helmeted) Kimono32 would post more pics of that enviable sky-blue scooter. Nice post. Does the birthday mean you have to change your name to Kimono33?

32 is reference to the current horsepower of the motor.
Read back in the thread for the build.
(Tho frankly - I suspect it's some bragging. So "Minnesota Overstatement" which they are known for. Personally, doubt that build produces any more than low 20's.)

Greetings:

32 ponies, even if it's a 225cc displacement, would equal a whopping 142 HP/Liter. More still if the displacement is less. Those numbers are Hard to get out of an air-cooled 2-smoke.

Very attractive, I must say!

You look pretty good on it too, and it's nice to hear that your late Spring blizzards are finally over there, so perhaps we'll be seeing more?

Thanks, all, for the nice birthday wishes. It was a real gift to feel the warm wind in my face and smell all of those late April smells.....freshly mown grass, blossoming trees, the warming lakes (they kind of stink of fishy mud but I like it anyway), grilled cheeseburgers, etc. The intoxicating bouquet of Spring.

Wheelman—I might change it to Kimono82, cuz I hope to ride until then, at least!

Ponies, Horses, Displacement Stuff, errrrm....???? Sorry, guys. I just ride and fix what is absolutely necessary. Not exactly sure what you’re talking about....

Cm—the “Minnesota Overstatement”? lol

Yeah, so edit post doesn’t seem to be working. “Breaking stuff” is what I meant.

HEY GIRL!!!!!! Where’ve you been?

SO glad to see you’re still around and still riding!!!

Thought you’d abandoned your adorable Vespa in favor of that old creaky Hodaka😊

Thanks for the hello and please stick around and share your riding/wrenching expertise. We missed you.
