Modern Vespa

In the interest of keeing pointless thread subjects alive and well I picked this topic. My Vespa is called "Flux." Flux is named after Flux Suicide, a fine young woman who sent me pin-up photos of herself while I was in Iraq. The aviators name their planes, so I named my scoot.

I as well am having a difficult time with naming my scoot, maybe you can assist me with that Hyper. You are one of the only people that I can think of that might be able to help me with this exhausting task.

My scooters have names. I depends on how many kicks it takes to start the
(F#$!@*%^) thing

Here's a few:

GS = Bertie Bus
LI = Moofu
SS racer = touching cloth
Etc etc.

My friends think that it's strange to name a scooter. Though not for Bikes?

Seems more appropriate to name a scooter than to name a noisy greasy old hog of a motorcycle.

I'm resisting the urge to name my scooter "Scooter".

got name when I blew a tire at 70 + during rush hour...nothing sucks more than repeating "it's gonna hurt when I fall" 100 times in your head while the rear end of your scoot "dances" under you while slowing down from 70+.

I think mine is simply "Ace." I took the scooter on my first really long ride, and when I got back home, I pulled into the garage and said, "Nice ride, Ace." I didn't mean to, but I had just named my scooter.

I had a bunch of names in my head, then when I went to the shop to see it for the first time (there were no porto greens in the shop and they had to get it from the warehouse) and sign all the paperwork, Alex solidified as her name.

Hey Guys......you've got a newbie here. I decided to have a former teacher, who also happened to be a Catholic priest gather several Italian or latin names for me and is going to Baptize "her" in a few weeks. I'm picking up my new 06 Gt200 A. green next weekend......She's been waiting on me for 2 months now......im stoked. Ever since my Werewife/STEW-soon to be ex-wife made me sell my 59' Caddy 2 years ago and now is seeking a DV.....i just can't get over it. Anywhooo.......i just got tired of zipping 5k chks to the attorneys every other week or so.......and SSCCHWwwiinnnggg !

I dont understand the need to name a scooter. My scooters have names on them in beautiful chrome scripts from the factory. Naming it "Sophie" doesnt make me love it any more.

That being said. I just call mine what its maker named it If you are referring to naming your bomber "Betty"... they don't do much of that anymore. I spend enough time around AF and Navy bases to know that the pilots dont name their F22, or JSF anything and they certainly dont paint voluptuous women on them anymore...

I scoured DMV for every possible permutation of that name for a plate to no avail. Ended up with URMYSUN. Corny, but there you have it.

You need to call it by name if you want it to come to you.

Every tank I came across in Iraq had it's name on it's main gun, Marines still name their rifles, and ever single ship, boat, etc...in the Navy has got a name. The Air Force is too busy making coffee anymore to name their planes, it's probably against their rules.

oh, yes, mine is named "Insetto Scoppiettante" which is the Italian translation for the "Arkansas Chuggabug" from Wacky Races, many of you might have watched and loved that cartoon!

She thrives under that name, when I call her that, she arches her back and thrusts upward and forward. When she reaches her climax, @ 136 kph, she just lies back and purrs. What a wonderful thing.!!!

I have always seen Vespas as feminine shaped... all the right curves in all the right places. I also liken vespa riding to a more sexual experience, as opposed to driving, which is more like a fight with the road.

From the first moment I laid eyes on her at the shop, I knew I would have her and her name was Lucille. Anyone who has seen Cool Hand Luke, likely knows why.

I named my scooter "LEWIS"!!! It's only an LX 50 so it is a little on the wimpy side!

Probably couldn't do a night in the car pound either!
