Hi guys new to the Forum! (Hope i've posted in the right place)

Got a slight issue with my ET4 (2003), Usually my Oil & Petrol lights comes on when i switch my ignition on, then (If i remember rightly) after a second or two the Petrol light turns off then when the bike is started the Oil light then turns off.

Now neither lights come on when i switch my ignition on, all other lights work but them two.

Could both bulbs have blown? It just seems weird they have stopped working together.

I'll swap the bulbs with working ones in the morning to see if it is the bulbs, if it works i'll remove/close this post (or however it works) If it don't work then can somebody help please?

Welcome!

No need to delete your post. Leave it (and your reply whether it was the bulbs or not) for the benefit of the next person.

I don't know ET4s, but is it possible the problem is a fuse or a loose connection?

It may be the flimsy flexible 'printed circuit' in the headset has a dodgy connection. Time to get your trusty multimeter out.

Thanks for the fast replies and advice!

JKJ-FZ6 i will check the fuse and all the connections in the morning and keep the post updated. Thank you

jimc i will check the circuits condition in the morning, last year i replaced the dashboard/speedometer (whatever its called) as the previous owner broke the plastic covering. The circuit on the secondhand part wasn't in best condition and was rather rusty so i swaped it over with mine as my one had little to no rust on it, but it was a year ago so it may have perished over time, thank you.

Unfortunately i dont own a multimeter but may have a friend who does!

I dont suppose you know what the voltage it should be putting out do you? I'm not the best with electrics....quite shocking actually. Laughing emoticon

UPDATE
The Oil light is working! Replaced it with a working one and all is good.

Shame i cant say the same for the Petrol light, The copper contact looks clean and so does the rest of the circuit....guess ill have to invest in a multimeter and see if there is a break somewhere.

Not too bothered about the Petrol light as i have a Fuel gauge to check petrol, was more concerned about the Oil light to be honest.

Thanks for the help!
