Welcome to MV. IIRC, AF1 racing in Austin does keys. They're on the forum here as well.
You'll have to send them the key, so want to be careful with shipping and all... From another post: AF1 Racing wrote: we got so tired of locksmiths not being to help or going "a what? who makes that? No way", we self-taught ourselves how to do it, bought all the equipment/blanks/chips and do it ourselves now. We do keys from all over the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and a few from the EU so far. We can even solve situations when all keys are lost. Not the cheapest way to do it, but overnight it here, we can overnight it back, and your out the key 2 days maybe 3 tops. |

Aloha and welcome to the forum from Hawaii. Where in NY are you? I grew up outside of Albany, near the MA border.I got some blue keys off of Ebay and took them to Ace hardware and they cut them. A good locksmith should be able to do it to. You could try that. With the mail to here being sketchy at best i didn't want to send my key to the mainland. Even if i insured it for $600-$700 it's a PIA to get the bike rekeyed. Hope this helps.

Track down a Vespa/Piaggio dealer and ask them for help. It is good to have a relationship with a dealer or two.

Both AF1 and ScooterWest have the ability to clone your blue key. Most Vespa dealers do not. You might ask your local dealer though, as he may know of a local locksmith who has the capability.

I am running through a series of mishaps that are driving me crazy.
It started with a couple of unfortunate incidents. Lately it was dropping my Canon G9X camera in the Peace River, causing it to never work again. We moved last year and things are missing I can't find my Spot, needed for the upcoming SCR. This past week I have been looking for the red master keys for the three Vespa GTs. I have blue keys but no master to be found. So glad to hear that AF1 and ScooterWest can clone the blue key. In looking for the keys, I found an extra I had made by jimh, a former contributor here, for Rocket. So I need spares for the other two. I will give it a week to see if the others show up. Bill |

+100 on AF1s key service. I had a very valuable package shipped to me that got damaged by the brown uniformed monkeys known as UPS... thank the shipping deity AF1 put a label on the smaller boxes inside the package!

I bought a chipped key off eBay and had a local locksmith cut the copy. Then I watched a YouTube video on how to program it.

You might ask your local dealer though, as he may know of a local locksmith who has the capability. I bought two ( for extras!) plain blue keys for a couple of bucks total from a webseller-not the ~$25-30 version as seen on ebay. Mine look the same but no Vespa logo on them. Locksmith supply houses have these IF? they will sell to you is the question-if not your locksmith can buy them for you in NYC, no doubt, land of everything it is. Them or you can buy a chip (two types for sale that work) to insert into the key then you'll need that locksmith to program the keys chip. Prices vary- I paid my guy (in Georgetown, KY) like $10 and he did it inside his mobile locksmith setup in his driveway at home after his regular day at business and carlots, etc.. They use the same gizmo required for modern cars & trucks with chipped keys. For clarity-this gets you a chipped key that will run the scoot and can be cloned again but NOT! a true "master key" as you state above. Having 3 chipped keys I get along just fine. Mail it if off if all that isn't an attractive solution. After Monday I find myself needing a cloned left knee-much harder to come up with after an LCL "event"-YUK and just when spring has sprung... |
