In order to get my seat to latch, I really have to slam it hard and the whole scooter shakes. On my wife's scooter the seat latches with an easy push.

I have looked at the mechanisms and can't see any obvious difference but have not removed the cover for better inspection. It seems like the mechanism is too low to easily latch.

Has anyone else experienced this and what's the fix?

Thank you in advance!

my latch assembly came undone from the bolts vibrating out.
Now it locks like it was new again.

Same thing happened to mine. What I did was I put 2 rubber pieces about 3mm thick on either side of latch. If you lift the seat and look either side of the latch you will see 2 rubber pieces. So the rubber pieces I added was in line with that. I'll try and put a pic later today to show you what I mean

I took the plastic covers off and looked at the latch. Nothing unusual. I think my issue may be the opposite of yours. My latch may be too low or the latching bar on seat too high. I am thinking about adding shims under the latch bracket or I will closer at the rubber feet on the seat to see how easy to remove to test this theory.

I found the same. I put new bolts in, shakeproof washers and nyloc nuts. Like often, I made it better than Piaggio did, and that shouldn't happen again now...

Shimmed mine up today because it was hitting the crash bar attachment and no amount of "persuading" corrected the issue.

Mine completely wore out. Removed the mechanism and tried to clean and lube but the thing just won't lock. That was a few years ago. I just leave it unlocked all the time now. Anything of value goes in the GIVI topcase. I figure anyone who wants stinky gloves or helmet must really need them.
