That's too bad. It's raining where I live but the forecast is for warmer and drier weather from this weekend.

Weeks and weeks of rain here. Fingers crossed for no rain today. Need to take the scooter in to have my fuel and vacuum lines replaced and then i want to do the ride around the island,

Seemingly never. We got hit with over 12 inches of snow today with blizzarding white-out conditions and it is still snowing. I almost forget what Blue looks like. Her dust cover is frozen to the ground out in the garage so I can't even peek and say hello. This is getting really old. Judy, I'll take your rain.

Usually by now I've got a month of riding under my belt... Now I'm looking at 12 inches of snow with no ride-able weather in site.... sigh...

I woke up to 1/4" of ice on my truck this monring. Thankful I hit the remote start before I showered. Made the scraping much more bearable in the freezing downpour.

This is not the powered two-wheeler I had in mind for April!

Oh my! We ended up having freezing rain and ice coating. I especially noticed this at 0200hrs this morning when I was up, firing up the green egg to put on a 10 pound pork shoulder to smoke for 15 hrs for a pulled pork dinner with friends tonight. Had to be careful I didn't slip and fall with the pork like the guy with the pizza in the Domino's commercial.

We must be experiencing the same weather event. Freezing rain and snow here started yesterday and is still coming down.

When not sure as of now...
Yesterday it was 75F/23C and today it is 40F/4C. Someone asked me if I was going to be removing the termoscud and the muffs, I said I will wait till we have 10 days of warm weather, doesn't seem to be in the horizon for the next week here in NYC.

Never. We're in the middle of an ice storm as I type. In April?

Don't be so cynical; "New Speak" as you call it, serves a noble social purpose.

Immediately after the Liberals were elected, they established a parliamentary committee to study important gender equity issues. Following 18 months of hearings, a vital finding of the committee was that the word "hail" has become a major source of concern, as it turns out that the preponderance of Canadians associate "hail" with phrases like "Hail to the Chief" or "Hail Ceaser", rather than those such as "Hail Mary", reflecting a highly-undesirable pro-male bias in society. Therefore, they have embarked upon an admirably-progressive plan to purge "hail" from general societal discourse.

From now on, it's unlikely that "hail" will appear in Canadian media, and it's definitely on the CBC forbidden word list. However, for historical reasons, it is being allowed to remain in dictionaries, along with other linguistic vestiges, to show future generations just how far Canada has come.

Dug out after an intense weekend. Not all that bad here, other than heavy, icy snow, maybe 8 inches. Northern Wisconsin's had up to a couple of feet.

One thing that's changed at some point in time was the need to name snowstorms. I kind of get hurricanes, but snowstorms aren't often a huge deal. Worse yet, it seems like any damned snowfall of 3 or more inches gets a name. Really?

We should be back to normal temps by the weekend with (according to me) most of the snow disappearing. It won't be missed. Maybe the robins will pry themselves out from under my deck, poor things.....

Allow me to apologize; I didn't think anyone would take my venting seriously. It was only an attempt to lampoon the current Canadian government, whose energies and attention are mindlessly focused on political correctness and self-promotion, rather than running a country. Unfortunately, I couldn't illustrate the point directly with explicit facts on this particular forum, without being shut down; so, I analogized.

In the Dayton, OH area - new record with 5 days in April of measurable snow (including 3 Mondays in a row).

I love the Bison too. I wouldn't have wanted to be the owners tho. He got loose and decided to check out the surf. After doing Yellowstone i've come to the conclusion that their ornery big beasties.
