Hi,
I'm taking an old set of worn grips of a Primavera and installing new grips.
Do I just slide on the new grips or is there an special technique involve that I should know of?!

The spare parts manual shows an "Irreversible Spring" as a component on the throttle side, does this engage with the grips in any way?

The new ones should just slide on. If you need lubrication, I've heard some people use hair spray. It helps them slide on but dries out a bit sticky to help them stay in place. I changed them on several scoots and didn't need anything to help them slide on. Push on the end and they just slid right on. Good luck.

in case the new grip isnt holding tightly, normally i just add a thin rubber out of a unused tube tyre on the handle bar tube, as the rubber will hold and suck the grip tightly.. i used it on so many used grip

but.. if the grip is indeed too tight, u need to put the grip in a hot water to make the rubber soft and weak and put it in, once it fit just let it chill by itself Razz emoticon

good luck with the bike and cheer mate

I use Threebond 1501C (Griplock). I pour a small amount inside the grip and a bit on the handlebar tube. I slide in the grip and let it set...

Put the new grips in boiling water for a bit to soften them up, then put them on

Wipe petrol on the bar n slam the grip on. You'll have to cut the grips if you ever want them off again.

Spouse you can put glue the original seem to have it. I just put them on, & they tighten & rubber/plastic hardens & shrinks once it cools down

You can use a boiling water soaked rag to get them off too, wrap them until warm & soft then you can push them right off. Please don't cut them, I like worn old original grips and have one beautifully worn set that are useless because they were cut off.
