Helluva time to need parts. Conformations are timely but I'm seeing a week before the shipped notice arrives. Major thumb twiddling

Did you get a deal with "free shipping"? I just ordered a bunch of umpire equipment (long overdue), and when I reached the threshold for free shipping I was excited. After ordering I read the fine print... orders received before 2:30 PM ET were shipped same day, but "free shipping" orders took two to three days to post.
What a bargain! My first game of the season is Friday evening, and my package hasn't shipped yet. |

Ordered same as usual. Normally I receive parts 3-4 days after ordering. My last parts order took 9 days.

and, of course your supplier was out of stock and has to order from HIS supplier before dispatching to you.

I find it just depends on where you are ordering from and what you are ordering. It really is hit or miss or in Larrytsg's case a swing and a miss.
Common things are easy. I ordered 3 8 TB hard drives on Amazon this morning and literally got them a few hours later. |

It is a little busy. We do 12-16 orders a day during the winter. Last night I was up until 3 ordering from Italian suppliers, and today we got in shipments from three suppliers, and have been filling orders since about 11. I just checked, and there are still 32 orders waiting to be filled today. After that, I've got about ten new products to add to the inventory, things we haven't carried before, including replacement front fenders for the BV350 that are pretty reasonable.

Just looking at this it seems one should order stuff before 2.30 pm and about two weeks before hand.
But hey here one can mail a small CVT scooter, stuff mailed before 2pm arrives the next day and the mail man delivers on the weekend. |

It was a bit of a culture shock when I came to the US with the long lead time for delivery of most online orders - it can often be a week or more. It made me realise how small the UK is geographically - you can order something one evening and it'll arrive the next morning.

I do a ton of shipping nowadays, and the best deal out there is USPS Priority Mail. If you order something that can fit into a Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope, it can be delivered in between 1 and 3 days. It's not usually included ($6.55 discounted price with online postage printing) in the price, but it is quick.

I do shipping as part of my online businesses.
Many people in your situation put their address as: Mary Lynn Scooter Rider PO Box 2273 155 Street Name My Town, State, Zip-2273 so that either USPS/FedEx, or UPS can deliver it. Before I mail a package like that, since I use the Postal Service exclusively... I change the address: Mary Lynn Scooter Rider / 155 Street Name PO Box 2273 My Town, State, Zip-2273 using USPS exclusively, I ALWAYS defer to the PO Box, assuming that the street address is undeliverable by the Postal Service. but don't get me started on college students who confuse a campus box with a PO Box, or think their dorm room is a street address! Of course, all this depends on your shipping department actually loking at addresses and making minor changes..... |

This has caused endless issues since Amazon switched to using UPS "value" shipping which delivers to the post office for the "last mile". That and over the holidays they started using USPS 2 day That means at least 3 days in Breckenridge because it won't get into your PO box until the night of the day it is supposed to be delivered at best. I had at least 10 packages I'd ordered as Christmas presents that were returned by USPS. Amazon said that 2 day delivery would revert to UPS after the holidays. It didn't resulting in the reorders being returned as well. I've wasted way too much time on packages that didn't arrive and getting credit/reshipping sorted out. USPS in Breckenridge makes Comcast customer service look good. If you only ship USPS then I hope you make that clear when people order. Heck always make it clear how you will ship any package. |

Most of my business is though Amazon (I warehouse and ship myself after they raised the prices on selling via Prime), and I think the customers know they're going to get stuff via USPS. eBay clearly states that I'm using the USPS.
Haven't had trouble with this, but I do take the time to move the street address out of the address fields and into the Name, where it should not be looked at. Plus, if only the PO Box is in the address field, then the ZIP+4 is recalculated (or verified) by the postage software I use. If I forget to move the street address.... who knows what happens. Now, I have no real idea how long it takes to deliver this stuff.... once it leaves, I just assume it gets there . But I haven't had too many complaints about slow service (and I ship all over the country). |

The issues I've mentioned are specific to the Breckenridge Colorado post office. People in other parts of Summit County served by other post offices don't seem to have the same sort of problems getting their orders.
FWIW, the UPS guys up there are just as frustrated because they get flack when deliveries suddenly aren't working the way they have for years. |

There are many reasons that a street address is undeliverable. I don't know the specific reasons, but some remote places in a town won't get delivery, some private roads, etc etc. Some small towns (like where my daughter lives) don't deliver mail at all, everyone gets their mail sorted into boxes in their post office (even with a street address).
That said, it's a very small percentage of all addresses that fall into this category, and most of these people have a PO Box. The problem comes in that when you want to order something online, you sometimes have no idea who is going to do the shipping... and only the Postal Service will deliver to a PO Box. UPS, DHL, FedEx - they don't deliver to PO Boxes, but they do deliver to those "undeliverable" street addresses. |

I do not know why they don't do any delivery. I know it is a contracted USPS office not one owned and run by the government. I've heard it is a low bidder situation.
While i can see not delivering in the rural parts of the county Breckenridge is a town and eve though we are outside of the city limits we still have cty sewer and water. The local bus even runs past the end of our driveway. If they only delivered within the city limits I could almost undertand it but they don't do a single street delivery not even to those folks who live acros the street from the post office. It is so bad that many of the local businesses and residents pay for a box at the local FedEx store next to the grocery. What they tell you is to have everything sent to the USPS street address with your box number on it but I don't care for the extra 1-2 days that causes or the fact that I have to drive into town and stand in line to pick anything shipped to the PO box up. If I'm paying for delivery I want it delivered to my house. Sadly unless I know for certain it isn't USPS or UPS/FedEx "value" delivery that doesn't happen. Ironically I was told that a shipment was returned but six months later I had a pick up slip that took me from the annex building where our PO box was at the time to the main post office. At the main post office they said my package was at the annex (grrr!) so they would call me when someone was at the annex to hand it over. 4 hours later I got the call so another drive into town and third trip of the day to the post office I was able to get the postal crate that had my package. In it were several packages including one that ha been there since I was told six months earlier that the package had been returned to the shipper. Gotta love that post office, NOT> I willl say that our USPS in Houston has been quite good with deliveries and packages. Then again I can get same day and next day (often free) in Houston and even next day isn't always available in Breckenridge regardless of what I'm willing to pay for it. |

My primary scooter parts distributors is in Florida. I ordered a transmission shaft on Tuesday at Noon and it arrived, via USPS, 46 hours later. I lived outside Deposit, NY at the time. Anytime I ordered belts from them they arrived in three days. Deposit, population 1600, is pretty remote but the Post Office was delivering my bike and scooter stuff fairly quickly.
