Has anyone had experience with the Givi saddlebags available at WWW.scooterwest.com. I want to put them on my GT200, however I am concerned about the paint getting marked up. I had the SX saddlebags ( available at the same website) on my Fly 50 and I guess they moved around a lot because they really marked up the paint. I definitely don't want this happening to the GT but I need saddle bags. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome mongoandjane!

Here is a recent thread that should help you. There are also a few other threads if you do some digging.

Saddle bags: will they hurt the finish?

The magnets that are sewn in on the SX bags hold them fast to the sides of a metal scooter, which I'm guessing keeps the bags from rubbing at the finish.

Without a metal body, the magnets won't be much help on a Fly.

The GT, on the other hand, has a metal body for the magnets to stick to.

I think, but am not totally sure, that the Givi bags have the same setup.

Of course, you still gotta keep things clean to help avoid damage.

I have both a set of GIVI saddle bags and the SX bags. The version of the GIVI bags that I have (sorry, don't know the specific number for the bags) do not have any magnets sewn into them. Instead, the bag comes with several small bungie cords to hold the bags down to the sides of the body. Frankly, there isn't really any good spots to bungie the bags to the GTS. This is the reason I went with the SX bags even though they are much smaller. Of course, the GIVI bags do have plastic covers to put over the bags in the event of rain.
