So now that ive got your attention I can reveal that this scoot does not yet actually exist yet Razz emoticon

But ive been planning this build for some time i just need to find a wrecked et or lx at the right price and im gonna make a start.

Ive been doing some research over the last couple of days about the wheels and its left me scratching my head a small bit.

I already own 2 engines i can use, one from a runner and one from a typhoon, just depends on if i want lc or not, my problems start here though...

both of these engines are disk brake engines as i converted the typhoon to disk earlier, so im stuck with disk unless i wanna go out and buy another motor(it is not possible to reattach the lug for drum brake)

I have been having trouble finding a set of matching wheels to suit this configuration, if i had kept my drum on the typhoon engine,it would be simple and i could just use et or lx wheels, but its too late for this now.

I see that i can fit gt front wheels to my et or lx forks BUT, i have also heard that the back wheel wont fit my 2 stroke engine is this true? i dont have gt wheels to try it.

can anybody recommend me a matching set of wheels to go onto this scooter when i start building it, they dont have to be from exactly the same scooter once they are a close enough match. runner 2t type rear and et/lx type front mounting.... size is not that important but i do like the look of the bigger 12" wheels.

Yep if you want matching wheels your stuck with ET or LX.

LX come in the grey silver, or all black or black with polished edge.

That's it really

Re: et2 172 - wheel choice help
I'd buy a set of skipper or Hexagon cases with a drum brake on ebay and swap everything over and use an ET rear wheel. I think the swap may work better with the slightly shorter cases too. I'm not 100% sure the cases are shorter. I have a Hexagon 150 and a TPH 125, but I couldn't imagine the rear wheel from the Typhoon fitting on the Hex.

Plus, I think 10" wheels look better on the ET. I'm planning on doing the same, but I'm waiting for my Hexagon engine to need a rebuild. The Hexagon is ugly, but so very comfortable and useful with the big trunk. It'll be a shame to junk the Hexagon chassis to just harvest the engine, but nothing lasts forever. And certainly not the way I ride.

There's a Skipper 2T engine on ebay now for 280 GBP. Not cheap, but not a bad price. Plus you won't have to deal with the LC bits.
