My ABS rear tone wheel took a beating when I removed my rear tire, and it's bent. I know absolutely nothing about the technical aspects of ABS. Does the tone wheel need to be in good shape for the ABS to work? If I order a new tone wheel for installation, can I still ride and just not enjoy the benefits of ABS while I'm waiting for the part to arrive?
Without it, you won't have ABS or ASR, but you can ride. The ABS light will stay on. If the speedometer stops working too, then you'll know it's also running off the ABS ring.
I think there is reference to tolerances or set up distance between the abs wheel and sensor. If you can straighten out the wheel and get the distances correct/within tolerance will be OK.
