Had an S150 ie for a while now, and still do !! but it felt underpowered out on the big 3 lane roads of FL, great for downtown, but getting there was always a little sketchy. So anyway picked up a 2015 GTS Supersport only 200 miles on the clock.

While the dealer is going to contact the previous owner to try and find the spare key and manual, i'm not holding out too much hope.

Does anyone know the cost to get a second key cut ? Seems the exact same style key as the S150, so standard. Also need to know if i am able to download the owners manual somewhere ? I need to figure out a few things such as tire pressures. Oil viscosity. Transmission oil viscosity. and how to enable / disable ASR.

Also not sure on service intervals. When the valves need checking / adjusting.

Also any GTS owners got any tips ? throw em my way.

Loving the bike. Just been out with the missus both on the Vespa's and it was a lot of fun.. The GTS is a lot smoother and quicker, and easier to ride than i thought it would be. Wife is going to be using it more than me, and she's 110lb.. and it fits her perfectly. I was initially worried that it would be too cumbersome for her.. Soon as she and i took it for a test ride, i was here take my money !!! minus a great discount of course. Laughing emoticon

Congratulations. I have a 2015 as well...identical but shiny black.

Here's the answer for service intervals....check the wiki here for some of the others if you haven't yet.

Tire pressures should be listed inside the glove box.

When you open the seat fully, it tends to knock the kill switch, and so won't start. I discovered this after much cursing and head scratching.

thedoc46, congratulations on getting s great bike. You won't be sorry. They last pretty much forever if you look after them, but you probably know all that! If your wife is only 110lbs when she is the pilot on her own, the bike will likely take off!! It has oodles of power. I hope you both enjoy your new ride.

Thanks, is it normal to be hearing sounds from her 30mins after shutting off ?

Maybe a one sec sound every min or so. Like a purge valve or something. Was initially concerned about it being the fuel injection priming, and possibly killing the battery sooner than normal, but i guess it could be the evap system doing something ? What i don't know, but something ?

Regarding the initial transmission/hub oil replacement I have some Mobile Synthetic 75w-90. It meets the API Service MT-1 and GL-5 EP gear oil service classification. Is that ok for the GTS300 ?

As for the engine oil, i have one liter of AGIP 5w-40 and a genuine Piaggio 5F11 oil filter, and o-ring.

My understanding is it requires 1.3l of oil.. So just need another liter and providing the transmission/hub oil is good, i should be all set for its initial service.

Yes those oils are fine, although you don't actually need a synthetic GL5 gear oil. GL4 80-90 extreme pressure is just as good in this application. It's a bit less money too. But the GL5 is fine.

Some people have fuel overflow problems when gassing up. I usually remove my pet carrier and place it sideways across the opening then fuel up. If you get an overflow it won't flow into the carrier. Also get ready to have to replace the muffler gasket.

Keep an eye on your coolant, just in case.
Get and keep a spare exhaust gasket.
I prefer an upgraded horn...YMMV.

Think this will work for you, though not 2015 specific. I purchased a 2016 owners manual for my 2015 GTS, and it is essentially useless due to the very small print.

Welcome to the group and enjoy the ride...

The valves on the LX should be checked at 4,000 miles or 1 year, so says the owners manual. Shouldn't be that much different on the GTS. I use Rotella as my oil. Get it at Walmart. 5gallons for $22 but any type is good as long as it's 5w40

Yeah Judy, the GTS is actually 12400 miles between valve checks. Just mentioning it. So I hear you have a Malossi tranny kit on yours now! How are you liking it? Is there much of an improvement on performance away from the lights?

Best tip I ever got.

I found the GTS had so much more power that it would sometimes come on like a light switch at idle where my S150 that never happened. So use your rear brake whenever you are moving around at idle or just above idle and want to move the scooter around slowly. You can easily overpower the engine with the rear brake at just above idle and have complete control moving the scooter slowly.

So tomorrow i'm going to order some parts.

Oil Filter / 5W40 Agip oil
Oil plug o-ring
Hub oil change
AGIP Coolant
Coolant cover o-ring (scoot is 2yrs so may as well change the coolant)
DOT4 brake fluid

Someone mentioned an exhaust gasket. What's the deal there? Do you need to replace every time you remove the exhaust as in changing the rear tire?

Anything else i should pick up.. Scoot is a 2015 but only has 300 miles on her.

OP- regarding the key-do a google search to save time finding a MV thread about keys. I assume you got a blue key and want a red key that duplicates your code ?
The blue keys can be cloned by any locksmith there in FL who does modern chipped car keys on the same machine. They will need a new uncut blue key with a chip inserted to do this.
The key blanks vary in price from a few dollars up to much more depending the source. A dealer bought scoot they should furnish the extra key?

An O-ring doesn't go bad in two years-if they did we'd all be looking for a ride.
If you are your own service person-get an exhaust gasket too.

Not necessarily. However, they are somewhat unpredictable, and fragile as well. Haven't done it, but easy enough to bugger up when reinstalling. Some people have gone several rounds on the same gasket. Mine died beforeI needed to change my first tire, so even if you can get by with the old one, it's great to have a spare.

BTW, spares store nicely in an old prescription bottle. Also, don't forget to recheck the torque on the exhaust clamp from time to time. Mine definitely needed snugging up after I decided to check it 1k miles in. OTOH, don't overtighten either....torque wrench is a good idea here.

Stay on your dealer about getting the red master key, they shouldn't have taken it back in on trade without it. It's very important to have and expensive to replace.
