Hi Guys, long time lurker here and thanks alot for all the discussion has helps me heaps. I have a couple queries I need some advice with, hope you can help...

First problem is an air tube, I presume its leading into the air intake somehow, a dn it is loose and not attaching. Its kinda in the right place, but not attached and I cant seem to bend/stretch the hose enough for it to attach. Is this a problem? ie.. is there any vacum foor thsi hose? Only problems I forsee is either it is sucking in some air post air filter from where it isnt joined or it is reducing air intaking-in?

Second problem is the fitting of the handle bar plastic, appears on my ride to sit a bit high at the front above both controls, the section where the mirros are - is this normal or do i have a fitment problem.

Bike is a 2013 150ie3v, very low k's and only mod is an italian airhorn

Can anyone help give me a steer on these problems?

pics attached, thanks matt

Hi Matt,

1 The bellows in the picture is the cooling air for the CVT. The bellow should expand to fit over the very thin lip on the plastic cover. There should be a cable-tie holding it there. It being loose or not connected is not anything to be majorly concerned about.

2 The handlebar covers are aligned by some vertical plastic clips and held by four screws from below. Either the screws on that side are not fully tight or the clips are binding. Clench your fist and give the high part a wallop. If that doesn't fix it, mention it next time you go anywhere near a dealership.

Mike

It might be easier to remove the cover, force the tube on and get it cable tied, then you've got more leverage to pop the cover back on.

Regards the handlebars.

Remove the mirrors.

Remove the horn cover

Undo the 3 screws holding the front cover on.

You will see there's one big central clip/hook at the top.
2 vertical ones at each end, and then several guides along top and bottom edges.
Before you screw it back together you need massage it so everything seats.
Also when fitting the 2 outer screws it's easy to send them in wonky and miss the post they should be in, that distorts things too.

Oh yeh, I've got one waiting for me next time I lift the floor lol.

PS by the way with the headlight plastic. The front half does sit higher than the back, but yours is just a tad high.

Great thanks for the reposnses guys, appreciate it.

Yes there was a cable ties holding the tube, but i snipped it off to try and get the tube back on.
And there was an aftermarket horn fitted, maybe they didnt quite get the fitment right when re-installing

I'll have a crack today at fixing all

cheers

Taking that red lower cowl off will help with access to the snorkel manifold. Take out the screw in the black pad.

I wouldn't wallop the headset. It could crack the 2 little tabs that hold it in place. I would take the headset off and realign it but be careful of the tabs because they break VERY easily. Ask me how i know.
