PiaggioCo is working on a contract to supply the New York Police Department with a fleet of MP3-250's to replace their previous scooter fleet of Piaggio Beverly 200's. This would be great news for Piaggio as it would give their tilting 3-wheeler a lot of visibility.
The mp3 is as large as a X8 so not bigger than a Beverly. I own a mp3 and used to ride a Beverly for 3 years so I can compare.
I agree with you. The front of the MP3 is no wider then the rear of it, and the rearend is a dead copy of the X9! Heck, it's no CanAm Spyder, by any stretch of the imagination!
I test rode a MP3 but owned a LX150 at the time. To me, it did not seem like you could split lanes with the MP3 but you guys would know better than me.
I split lanes on the MP3. More so on the freeway where there's a bit more room, but I've done it on surface streets as well. The front is no wider than the handlebars or the mirrors, so splitting is still pretty much the same on a regular bike.
