I love the red. The "03 Liberty that i had was British Racing Green. Their one of the most dependable scooters Piaggio makes IMHO. Here's to many miles and smiles.

Still waiting on the accessories (small wind shield and piaggio topcase), but I rode her home anyways. Today was my almost nice day to ride her to work. 10 miles of city street and morning rush hour traffic. She's got plenty of zippy zoom zoom for the 40 mph streets. I especially like her size for getting in and out of the home garage, and even maneuvering in the work garage!

if I was in the market for a 150cc the liberty is one I would choose. main reason would be the larger wheels which make handling a lot better than the versa small wheel scoots

OAD they do have larger wheels. That's why i got rid of mine. It reminded me of a dirt bike. However that bike was trouble free. It just ran and didn't care about maintance.

Nice scoot, congrats! I'd definitely put shorty mirrors on, the scoot is made for filtering.

This was the website color, but it didn't do it justice. The variation to the glossy red and the matte 'red' in my dealer's warehouse was the selling point for me. Otherwise I think I would have waited for gray. And per the dealer, there was not a topcase colored to match, YET. The vendor website recommended the black case. I wouldn't have bothered, but per usual, there was zero chance of my helmet fitting under the seat |

All that said, it's a great ride--I'm not necessarily envious of her scoot given that I've got my own full sized bike, but it really is a heck of a lot of fun to ride. How long until all your accessories finally come in? |

I have the small Piaggio screen on my Liberty....it's pretty cool looking. Not sure it's accomplishing much for my riding comfort, but!
Quickly realized on my night rides that the glare back from the headlight is significant. One will notice that many screens have a rubber edging around the headlight to reduce the amount of light getting into the plastic screen....this Piaggio screen did not come with this edging accessory....but it is needed! Most often they use a silver/grey color edging, but I found only black. I found this suitable edging on ebay, called parts guy at scooterwest and gave him item # - since he said several customers had complained about the glare back. They should include 18" of the stuff with the screen. 10 months and 1700 miles with the Liberty 150i, and loving it - though i would never take it on an interstate! O.S. |

Next week Thursday I bring the scooter to the dealer for accessories. We ordered the topcase based on liters, so hopefully my XL helmet will fit, otherwise I will have to cancel that and try something different. I forgot about the glare issue on the piaggio small windshield. DOH. As long as it makes the commute comfy, I guess I can order the fix for night time riding. If the screen doesn't work for commute comfort, then I'll be expanding my screen collection when I switch to something larger

Interesting about that color red shown on the web page. I thought it was just a poor photograph since the color looked nothing like the images on youtube, or the red model Robot was reviewing on youtube.
When they showed me my Liberty down in the carton, I was pleased that it was NOT the color as seen on the Piaggio web page...which is the color shown above. To each his own....if it had been the matte plum I'd have opted for the white. ☺ Having a blast with my shiny red one! O.S. |

Yes, everything arrived and got put on my new Liberty. Mostly favorable
The OEM topcase actually worked out perfect for my 3/4 face, XXL, helmet, albeit sideways. And while the top case is black, it has the same red stitching on the back rest pad as the actual seat. VERY happy with how that turned out. The OEM small wind screen...hmmmm....I like the daylight look. It doesn't do much as a wind screen. And as warned by this forum, the headlight catches the edge of the screen and both refracts through the plastic and reflects off the plastic. The refraction is kind of a cool effect that doesn't seem to impact my sight and MIGHT improve my visibility to others. The reflection is definitely a night time annoyance. The small curve of the wind screen, NOT the circle cutout curve, but the bend normal to that reflects part of the headlight beam right back up at my face. NOT blindingly, but ANNOYINGLY. I am going to try some tape to block that reflection, but I haven't done that yet. I will try to post pictures in the next day or so when I can get them off my phone |

I phoned him back and gave him the info on this edging - suggested they include 18" of it with the screen, esp. because they charge much more for this screen than some competitors. O.S. |

Some pictures of top case and windshield, see individual comments...
Nice color matching of threading between case and seat.
Glare back up to rider
Glare forward to oncoming traffic...not such a bad thing
Refractive brightening of entire windshield...again not such a bad thing.
Possible solution area...raise up the windshield on its support rods to move headlight farther down from windshield...HAVE NOT TRIED THAT YET

Love the rubber edging idea. Easy to install, inexpensive, and OEM-looking.
I may try this on the BV. I like the look. |

update on the OEM top case...sizing. After a couple of weeks of constant use, it is annoyingly tight to fit my xxl 3/4 shoei helment upright. Turning it on the side means removing the bluetooth headset connector each time. Trivial, but I am spoiled by larger topcases.
update on the ride...very comfortable seat. good handling over and through the many gravel lined road construction projects that I encounter on my way to work. update on the OEM wind screen...that ebay purchased black molding might just be the highest value (use / $) accessory I have ever purchased for any of my scooters |
