Modern Vespa

Can someone recommend a good set of shoes for gilera 13" rims for GTS? I'm in Australia so not a snow tyre but a good alrounder I suppose.

I've had excellent service life and traction with Michelin City Grips. 15K on the front, 8K on the rear. Both need replacing soon.

Heidenau is another brand that gets excellent reviews, but I do not have any personal experience with those.

Sorry guys, I guess what i was trying to ask was what is the best tyre size to run on these rims since they are 13" and the stock GTS run a 12" rim. I'm guess 120/60/13 and 130/60/13 on the rear? not sure!!

There are quite a few on-line tire size calculators. Do you wish to keep same gearing or go up a bit? 120/70-12 is the same as 130/60-13

I'm happy with the performance as is so not looking to make a "performance" upgrade.

140 60 13 on the back

Awesome Stage2...how do you find them compared to the standard size rims/tyres? They bolt straight up? They look great.

Previous owner did it, but they go straight on (unless ABS).
I really like the extra width { I'm stepping away from the obvious jokes }
Psychological maybe , but extra confidence in power on in a corner.

Only airbox modifications are internal.
Cage was £15 from the bay of fleas

all done, handles heaps better but i've got a not shimmy in the bars low speed, i'm gonna play with tyre pressures to see if that sorts it out and put 13g weights in it too to compensate for the slightly bigger tyre diameter...apart from that, she looks mint!! :D

What pressure you running?
Just checked the front and I'm at 24psi cold

the front was nearly 30psi!! I got it back from the tyre guy and didn't check it...i've dropped it down to 22psi. well see how that goes.

30 psi is high? I run 40 in mine. 22 seems really low?

Great looking scooter. Those wheels and exhaust are nice upgrades!
