HELP ! Temp gauge doing weird things

Pulled over and engine didnt seem that hot, tested thermostar when i got home seems ok. Could it be the gauge playing up? Water is clean no oil mix so head gasket should be fine. Its my only ride at the moment and rely on it for the 30 km round trip daily in the traffic thanks

Could be a connection got corroded or wire broke in the fan circuit.
