Hi
Riding home from work i noticed that the temp gauge nearly reached red. Pulled over and engine didnt seem that hot, tested thermostar when i got home seems ok. Could it be the gauge playing up? Water is clean no oil mix so head gasket should be fine. Its my only ride at the moment and rely on it for the 30 km round trip daily in the traffic thanks

verify your coolant level in overflow tank and radiator (when engine is cool). Do not make the judgement that the gauge is faulty until you do at least the step above

Also check that your cooling fan kicks in, if there is one.
Could be a connection got corroded or wire broke in the fan circuit.
