Modern Vespa

I woke up yesterday to find that a raccoon spent the night locked in my garage. I was surprised to see the damage that he did everywhere, poop in the corner, various things destroyed, everything knocked off the shelves, etc.

I was even more surprised though, to find him sitting in the passenger seat of the car (I left the windows down) giving me the stink eye as I got in the car. Needless to say, I jumped out of my underwear, and car, pretty quickly. He was unimpressed.

After chasing him out with a rake, pretty funny actually, I surveyed the damage closer and discovered that the little bastard took a liking to my GTS too. He sat on the seat for a while and decided to take a crap there too.

So now the question. What's the best way to clean a stock seat on a 2007 GTS? It's the seat with the strange texture to it. It's not that bad really, just dirty and a bit tainted, but I don't really look forward to sitting on it until it's cleaned.

Is dish soap and water fine, or will that ruin the fabric? Anybody used anything stronger?

The GTS seats are a vinyl material, but they look much more expensive than they are. Any old soap will do fine as will any automotive interior cleaner.

Actually, raccoon poop contains stuff that's toxic to us humans. I'd use a strong disinfectant first, and then use the stuff the others have recommended to recondition the seat.

I was the seat with car wash along with the rest of the bike. Maybe pour some peroxide on the spot to be extra safe?

I use something called "Anti-Icky-Poo" to clean up kitty messes and it works better than anything else I've tried. For some reason, it's easier to find at independent pet stores than the chains.

wow, I had know idea it was so bad. I'm going to give my garage an extra cleaning. My kid plays in there.

I scrubbed it with dish soap and water and it came out perfectly clean and the seat looks fine. It also gave me an excuse to wash and wax the whole bike too.

I love it how waxing/washing a car is kind of a big chore, but on a scooter you can give it a super thorough cleaning and put two coats of wax on the whole thing in less than an hour.

Wow, at least all he did was poop on it. Once I was showing houses and we came to one that was just immaculate inside, recently renovated, decorated really classy, etc. The only thing that stood out was that all the blinds in the entire house were destroyed.

I found out from the agent later that a squirrel had somehow gotten inside - the house was vacant, and had been partying there for a few days. It had attacked every window trying to get out!

After the mess was taken care of and the scoot was all shiny and clean, we laughed about it all weekend.

I wish I could have seen him on the GTS. I like to picture him pretending to rev the engine and making engine noises, but i'm sure he didn't. He just pooped.
