Anyone done it? It looks like it's stapled in instead of the clips on the older seats. How do you deal with the riveted strap? This looks a bit tougher than I'd envisioned.
Is your seat the style with long springs under the foam or something newer w/foam on a plastic platform. Yours looks possibly aftermarket? I think the older original type uses the clips and the foam on plastic is stapled. If you don't already have a new cover, maybe this would work for you: http://scoot.net/classifieds/forsale.html?id=61718
Not on my PX, but i've installed new covers on five different dirtbikes. Exact same principle...the seats i did had plastic seat pans, just like on the later PX/Stella seats. It was fairly simple to do with a pneumatic staple gun on a hot day. I still have all of the bikes that i've recovered...zero issues 3 years later.
I've actually been thinking about removing my stock seat cover on my PX, then reshape the foam, then staple it back down again (i dislike the "muffin top" shape and look of the PX/stella seat).
Voodoo that's exactly the one I got in the mail today. I've not had a stock seat before. The cover is brand new and has the strap too. The pan is plastic. Pics later.
