Hi all,

Long time, no speak!
ok then, Ill cut to the chase:

Riding the lx, all is good, then suddenly dies- a kind of hesitation, puff then kaput! Would not start, engine turned over, but would not start whatsoever.

Pushed home (4 miles i might add - nice little work out)

So, the things Ive checked, replaced, cleaned:

New battery
New spark plug
New spark plug cap & HT wire
New CDI/coil
Cleaned carbs
Checked all hoses (vacuum, fuel)
Checked fuel tap for flow
Replaced fuse

Even after all the above, still no spark!

I have noticed the headlight and rear light don't illuminate as did before. Horn works and brake light, but thats it.

As mentioned, engine cranks - full of beans, but won't fire, not even a sniff of spark.

What can it be - Ive read of others with stator problems, reg probs - could it be one of these - how do i check?

Please help - Im at my wits end and no doubt needlessly spent money when didn't have to....I can't keep throwing cash at it on the off chance it might be the fix...

Thanks in advance
R

Did you check the output from the stator/magneto?

ok, so found a tutorial on checking stator output etc:

http://www.pedparts.co.uk/blog/piaggio-ignition-fault-finding

my numbers didn't seem to match up, so thinking this mat be the cause, although as I began to undo the screws holding the plastic stator cover, in prep for purchasing replacement, they sheared off.

Great.

Anyone any ideas how to remove?

Thanks
R
