So I've been giving my 2003 ET2 50 some TLC and I've run into a snag that I don't quite understand.

I rebuilt my front brake caliper: new pads, new pin with the little snap clip, new clip that sits on top of the pin. https://www.scooterwest.com/vespa-caliper-hardware-kit-498849.html

I changed my front rotor: Removed the cotter pin, cap, circlip, nut. Then I took some suggestions online to remove the hub by hitting the old rotor attached to the hub with a rubber mallet-nothing happened. So I bought a 3 arm jaw gear puller, which worked like a charm and removed the hub with the old rotor attached.

NOW:
I attached a new rotor to the hub, put the hub on with the rotor, attached the circlip, nut with a torque wrench, cap, cotter pin. Then I attached the caliper to its rightful place on the rotor. When I put on the front wheel, the pin from my caliper was digging into my wheel so much that the wheel doesnt even turn.

My question is, has anyone heard of this type of thing? Is my hub crooked now? Do I need to change my ball bearings for some reason? Is that pin too long? (I threw out the old one, d'oh). Trying to figure out where to start here before I start buring more $... Crying or Very sad emoticon

Can you post pics? Every post should include them

Is the pin directional? Maybe do a 180 with it? Can you remove the tire and spin the hub to see if it's warped. Put something stationary next to it so your eyes can't deceive you.

MJRally: You were right, I put the pin on backwards , after that it was no problem!

To those reading this, here are some facts that might make this thread not a total waste of your time.

For the ET2:
Front Wheel nut: 22mm
Right mirror nut: 17mm
Brake fluid caliper nut: 11mm

If your hub does not come off by rubber mallet, actually, don't even try, buy a 3 jaw gear puller. I got the craftsman from Sears, it worked like a charm. The craftsman 2-3 jaw gear puller screw head size is 5/8.
