REALLY? let's check the manual... to drain the oil "remove the rear wheel". What! that requires removing the muffler and the exhaust manifold also. No easy task. The oil filter is hidden behind the exhaust manifold which means there are no short cuts! This is not the way a hallmark of scoters works...If you are considering purchasing a Vespa consider this. not the sound of Pragilo or Vespa but the Chinese scooters are all over this crap. I'm sorry I have a Vespa and I have had a Chinese scooter...get a source for parts and they are much better!

You can purchase an oil filter tool from Scooterwest. The kit includes the tool. It makes it easy enough to remove the filter without pulling the tire or exhaust.
https://www.scooterwest.com/gts-gtv-super-lx-et4-vespa-tune-up-kit.html Also, a motorcycle lift from Harbor Freight is a worthy investment as it makes it easier to get to the filter and draining. |

I just pay people to do this stuff for me, easy peasy.
Not really sure why you would come here and post something like that unless you're trolling. Hell I have a Vespa because I love Vespas. Back in the day I had Vespas and Lambrettas and believe me you don't own a Lammie unless you want to roll up your sleeves. I also own a BMW so I must be a glutton for punishment. If you want to ride around on Chinese Tupperware be my guest. A lot of great bikes come out of Asia but China... maybe not so much. Japan sure, but I'll stick to the Italians and Germans for now. The Vespa engines are well built and capable of amazing things. I'd love to see a post abut someone going cross country on a Qingqi. |

A friend had a small"vacuum cleaner" type apparatus that you could suck out all the fluid (not brake). Great for the hub oil but on the rg oil you should still change out the filter but you can still use it to suck out the oil. one. Sold at Lowes for under $40
